I am only sixteen years old and my vision is at 20/100. The legally blind ratio is 20/200. I can't see things from far away. My mother has better vision than me, she is at 20/60 and my dad has naturally good eyesight. The only factor I am aware of is using the computer frequently, but I know others that used the computer just as much and they have fine vision. It wasn't until recently that I have gotten contacts/glasses because for a long time I was unaware or just in denial of my bad eyes. Now that this has hit me, I feel really scared and helpless, as well as determined to eventually get laser eye surgery. What could have caused such horrible vision? Am I one of the few teenagers like this? Also, what things can I do to naturally strengthen my eyesight, or is there nothing to be done aside of surgery? I am beyond devastated about this situation of being hard of seeing. When I take my contacts out at the end of the day, I nearly break down. I am so young for this to be an issue.

First, you should stay off the computer more, limit your time. At first this may seen hard but you can do it.

You have to take in less calories than you burn. I know you said you hate to exercise, but there are things you can do that won't seem like much exercise once you make the habit. Obviously, watch your food intake and drink more water. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water and wait 10 minutes. If it goes away, you were really thirsty rather than hungry. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park farther away. If you have a home with stairs, make excuses to go up and down them. If you have a lot of groceries, make more trips to take them in the house. Small steps add up to burned calories. Start small. Take a walk around your block. Then do it again tomorrow. Then add a block, and so on. You will find that you look forward to those times to get some fresh air and clear your mind. Hope it helps.

a description of an ailment such as poor vision is hard to accurately comprehend over the internet , you really need to talk to an optometrist.
ADVICE: If you decide to get corrective surgery, insist that you see the operation done before hand. If the surgeon does not allow it, then find another surgeon

I am not a Doctor and nor the qualified person. I am also teenager like you.Just thing to say that leave the matter on your parents and let them decide on this. And be as free and don't take much tension about it. I know its serious matter but still. As you can think of it, but by taking tension of it it will become more critical. I think consult with your eye specialist and be cool

Take care
