You could be passing a stone.
It will start out with lower back pain, and in
full force, for usually a few hours, you will expierience
a sharp shooting pain in your abdomen, and usually
vomitting. The pain will be excrutiating, and there
will be nothing you can do to make yourself comfortable.
If you are having a kidney infection, you will most likely
feel like you have to go to the bathroom frequently, you could have puss and/or mucous , and possibly blood in your urine.

Are you in any kind of pain when you urinate? Have you been going more frequently? Have you noticed bloody or cloudy urine?
If you said yes to any of those questions, you probably have a kidney infection. If not, there's a chance you just have a virus, like the flu. I had the flu last year and had so much achiness in my back I thought I was going to die! However, viruses generally don't have acute symptoms that last that long ... You also could be experiencing kidney stones.
Make an appointment with your doctor. You probably need to have a urinalysis to check for sure. If it is a kidney infection, you need to get it cleared up ASAP, because they can get very nasty very quickly.

Is your urine Dark in color (copper color)? If yes..then YES it's a kidney infection or kidney stone which can cause the pain in your back around to your front.,feeling flu-like...and not having done anything strenuous.
If you burn while you urinate...you could have Bladder Infection that could lead to a kidney infection if not treated.
Go to the emerg..or to your family doctor ...do a urine test and they will let you know what's going on.
Right now..take tylonol for the pain , drink plenty of cranberry juice and get some rest till you see the doctor tomorrow. Do not put it off......It's best to get seen to, get on some anti-biotics to clear this infection up~

Go to the doctor. There is a simple urine specimen test to determine if you have an infection. You could have a kidney stone. This is very very painful. They can do xrays and an IVP to test. Hope you have good insurance, as this could be very expensive.
A urologist told me to drink alot of liquids to move the stone. Such as cranberry juice, as this is supposed to help prevent stones.

It could indeed be a kidney infection, or it could be body aches associated with the flu. Either way, you need to see a doctor as soon as possible.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

If you have a fever.....could easily be a kidney infection. Could also be a kidney stone. Either way.....time to visit the ER.

if you cant get to the doctor right now, drink several glasses of cranberry juice tonight and tomorrow and see if it helps any. if so, it is probably a kidney infection..if it continues another day or two, see the dr.! cranberry juice cures my kidney/urinary tract infections sometimes and I don't even have to see a dcotor
