My grandmother recently called me and explained that her knee was swollen, the back of her knee pains her, and her ankle is in extreme pain. Does any one have a CLUE as to what may cause this. I have tried to research it but only came up with one explanation: DVT. Her doctor wants her to get surgery and get her knee replaced, but I think it may be something else.
Thanks to all who answer, I really appreciate it!

There are people that live in the hospital because their kidneys need to be cleaned 3 times a day. Their bodies are monitored every minute. They are weak all the time, but sometimes, they feel OK? What kind of kidney disease do they have? Is it that serious? What causes it and all the bowel problems that go along? What kind of treatment is necessary? What is the procedure?

They need someone to donate a kidney to them immediately or else How Long Will They Stay Alive?

I have cola colored urine, and the doctor says it has blood in it. I also have swollen neck glands, and sore throat, and the doctor say it is strep and the other UTI. Could it be something else, or should I not worry? I had a fever of around 102 by mouth for two days, until i started on antibiotic. The antibiotic seemed to also help with my lower back/hip pain. But my neck still hurts alot.

When was the surgery performed? How severe was your pre-surgical pain? Did the surgery correct the problem and stop the pain? Post-op are you able to perform "normal" tasks? Would you have the surgery again if you had the choice?

I had a long bout of sinus congestion and just feeling generally ill, the ENT recommended I get a sinus Cat Scan. The report revealed I had a deviated setpum and a septum spur (which I guess is a type of bone spur) growing out of that. Just about every ENT in my area is on vacation right now, leaving me to wonder every day what this means.

Long shot I know, but does anyone here know if a deviated septum/spur causes prolonged headaches? I have dull headaches every day, usually in the back of my head but it often spreads to other areas too. The Cat Scan did not reveal any sinus infection.

I've had stabbing pains in my chest, stomach and I get a lot of headaches and dizziness, but the worst thing is the nausea, it drives me insane. I have baffled doctors and specialists at the hospital. Anyone think they have an idea?

I take the Atenolol daily and the Promethazine only when I have acute attacks of Meniere's Syndrome that include vertigo. My heart rate is around 54-56, age 62, male. I have had lightheadedness, slurred speech on awaking one morning, and generally feel very sluggish.

I am near-sighted, 23 years old. I work full-time in an office with NO daylight and fluorescent lights. I spend an average of 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week staring at the computer screen. I also study after work, which adds more strain on my eyes. I wear glasses with glare-protection. I paint on weekends and being the person that I am, I cannot see how I can significantly decrease my eye strain – I read, write, type, paint – mostly my activities require eye focus. I took my current job a year ago and I think I can see deterioration in my eye sight. I would not like to have a surgery. Also, I cannot quit the job – even if I do, I'd still be working in an office environment at my next workplace.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO ( other than surgery) TO SAVE MY EYES ?
Please, help – I am very concerned.

I was told that as I get older this will turn into a severe case of polio and I could possibly have problems with walking and even standing up straight. My mom can't stand up straight because of the poilio and really wants me to get this checked out with a specialist. I'm not having any problems and haven't had any ever so should I? I even had a child as was fine.. no issues with that so should I really be worried and can you pass this on to a child?

I know if you smoke meth it will rot your teeth much faster then snorting. Dose anyone know how long it takes to rot your teeth form JUST snorting not smokeing. If you where to brush your teeth everytime you did snort it would that help? I know someone that snorts a half a gram a day it and he dose not drink soda like most do he drinks water.

I told him that it dose not matter in the end it will end up roting your teeth anyway and it will do alot more then f your teeth up.

Just diagnosed with Celiac disease but can't find anything relatively normal for breakfast to eat. (I'm also lactose-intolerant). So far, I have eggs, fruit, and a few special gluten-free cereals to choose from. Please help with any ideas or recipes! And, of course, the quicker the meal takes, the better! Thank you!
