I was told that as I get older this will turn into a severe case of polio and I could possibly have problems with walking and even standing up straight. My mom can't stand up straight because of the poilio and really wants me to get this checked out with a specialist. I'm not having any problems and haven't had any ever so should I? I even had a child as was fine.. no issues with that so should I really be worried and can you pass this on to a child?

Polio is caused by a virus. I've never heard of anybody being born with it. Dr. Jonas Salk developed an antibody for it and if you get your polio shots as needed, you should not be concerned.

A curve in the spine could be a case of scoliosis. Yes, this condition can worsen over time. Severe case require surgery. You can learn more about it at http://www.scoliosis.org/

Many people live with mild scoliosis all their lives.

my mother was concerned that i might have a curve in my spine and it turned out i had mild kyphoscoliosis. You can pass this on to a child because i got both of my parents spine curature(mom had scoliosis) dad had kyphosis. I would get it checked out with a specialist because you don't want it to get to a stage where it is debilitataing, or needing surgery.
