All these people who say to apply for disability are only partially right. Getting disability won't necessarily get you a disabled/handicapped parking sticker. I have two hanging stickers for my car and hubby's car and I have been turned down three times by the soc. security office for disability. I got mine by having my doctor sign a form and mailed the form to some state office. Your doctor should know what you need to do to get one.

In Louisiana you must get a notice from your doctor that explains your condition and take it to the DMV. They will then issue you a handicapped license plate, a handicapped ID card, and a window card. If you do not have a car or drive you will only get the ID and window card for when you ride in someone elses car.

In Florida there is a form you get from the DMV that you take to your doctor. Your doctor fills it out, signs it and you return it to the DMV and if you qualify as disabled you will get a card to hang from your rear view mirror. It probably works the same in other states.

well if you don't have one already you have to go apply for disablity to see if you can even get the card. most likely you will be turned down two or three times but don't give up. if you think you really are disabled then you will get disablity checks in the end and you hang the handicapp plakard on your review mirror.

you can only get if from the DMV and the doctor must say you need it and how long you need it for.

you have to file 4 disability from soc. security. you may get denied but you just re-apply. we did tha for my dad and the same thing hapened to him and we re-applied b/c he really needs it
