I went to the doctor and told her that my neck sometimes got a bit swollen. She checked it out and at first glance she said I might have a thyroid problem and possibly a goiter. I took the blood test and everything came back normal. I was wondering what were some of the symptoms of someone who has had it. Could it be that there is something wrong but not noticable yet? Some of the things that I have been experiencing is persistant nausea, breathing problem which is not caused by asthma, and some more than usual hair loss. Is this something that could be related? Any information would help. Thanks.

I get these super painful headaches like someone’s hitting me wit a sledge hammer and they can last for up to 4 hours and they go away but like 1/2 and hour lt8r there back again. And they get gradually worse and they progress and panadol doesn't help or any other self help method sometimes they are so bad that I feel as if I’m going to pass out, and I get double vision and I feel really thirsty even though I drink like a camel seriously I drink like a whole glass of water every 10 mins that how much I drink and I eat enough food, and that sort of stuff and yeah! I have one now and is there any way of fixing them other than going to the docs because I can’t go my self and my rents’ won’t take me cause they don’t believe me

Earlier I asked a lengthy quesiton in the pregnancy forum about my story but I think maybe I should have come straight to the point. Has anyone had gastric bypass surgery? Was it helpful/effective for you in battling obesity? Would you do it again? I am currently pregnant with my second child (both children will be 14 months apart in age). I have been morbidly obese since puberty and both of my parents are exactly the same and have heart disease, diabetes, and health problems from weight. I am lucky that I haven't developed any of it and plan to have this procedure a year or so after I have this baby (May 2008). So if you have any advice or experience with this procedue please share.

You see for a while now, ive had these nodules/balls on my body. the biggest one is very noticable, its on my left forearm. it bumps out atleast an inch off my arm. there are a few others. tiny one on my right arm, not noticable. couple in my back, one in my stomach on the left side, one on my right thy.... the doctor says its probably harmless fat nodules (he had a name for them i dont remember, id like to know what they are called). i was wondering if anyone knows what they are, and if there is a natural way to get rid of them? i might have to undergo surgery...

I know cigarettes contain addictive substances, but what are they exactly. if I can't get my loved ones to quit, I'd like them to know what it is they are breathing in and exposing me to as well.

For the past month or so I've been really clumsy, occassional lightheadedness (due to lack of sleep), weak (endurance just isn't there), and blurred vision (my lazy eye keeps going out and I have little to no night vision), and creepy crawling feeling all over my body (like there's insects on me, but nothing is there) Also, just this past week I've been having right shoulder pain...like a dull ache and I've been having a hard time holding my bladder. Any ideas on what this could be? I know, I know....I should go to the doctor.

I have asked this question before and all I get is call your doctor..I have he is in clinic all day Tuesday and weds. He did call back but I was at a school play w/ my daughter.. sooo...here it goes.. I am passing a kidney stone (well trying). For the past two weeks my urine has been bloody but for the past several days I have noticed what looks like mucus tinged w/ blood in my urine. What could this mean? Otherwise my symptoms remain the same. Please don't tell me to call the Doc. I have and will be talking to him sometime in the morning i'm just wondering.

I have taken up the hobby of knitting in the past month or so. Yesterday while I was driving my left forearm started to hurt. Then, later while I was taking some notes I started to feel a tingling finger in my right thumb. My thumb still feels tingly. Could this be Carpal Tunnel and is is caused from the knitting? Do I have to stop knitting? When will this tingly feeling go away? Could it be something besides Carpal Tunnel? How long should I let this go on before seeing a doctor?

For the past few months, I've been oddly concerned about germs. I won't eat anything with my hands until I've washed them really, really well. Then if I go in a different room and touch anything, I have to wash them again before I can continue eating. When I take a dish or something out of the cupboard I have to rinse it off under the water before I can eat off of it. I'm also overly concerned about food poisoning, so I'm constantly checking expiration dates and worrying about food being cooked enough. I refuse to eat leftovers after one day because I'm afraid they're not safe. Is this really abnormal, like obsessive-compulsive sounding? Because that's what I'm starting to think....

It developed really fast over 2 days, and it's on the corner of my eye, inside, near the nasal bone. I went to my university health clinic but they said that it was a tear duct blockage, WHICH IT IS NOT, because I don't have tears streaming down my face.

I'm scared that it will grow again?

Have you guys experienced this and what is it? Remember, it's not on my lid, but it's in it, near the nasal bone...it's not visible from the outside but the lump is there.

I'm terrified.

For the last few weeks, I've been eating, and I've been throwing my food back up.

Some have told me that I could be diabetic.

Is this true? If it's a sign that diabetes is on its way, is there any way to stop it? What should I do if this IS a sign of diabetes?

P.S. I am 13 years young.

Ok so I was sick for like a month and finally went to the doctors and got antibiotics. They didn't know what it was... tested me for mono and all that. So it musta just been some bacteria or whatever...

Now I feel wayyy better (I finished the antibiotics over a week ago), but sometimes when I cough there is still some phelgm that comes up. What the heck is going on? I feel fine otherwise...

I mean it could just be me still getting better from it, but seriously I'm feeling so good right now. Could there be something up w/my lungs? It sometimes hurts when I breathe really deep- the doctor listened and said they sounded fine tho..

Thanks everyone :)

Ok their is a disease known for your family to have. Right now your mother is on her death bed, dying from this disease. It it fatal, no cure. You have a twin. Their is a 50/50 chance you will have this disease, if you have it, of course your twin will to. All you have to do is go to the clinic and have them take some blood to see if you have it. Would you go to the clinic and learn your deadly fate, and then have to bear the news to your twin sibling, or deal with the agony of knowing you might inherit this disease and you both will die? We are studying dieases in Biology and my teacher asked me this and I said I didnt know and I was wondering what you guys would do? This story is acutally true, it was a student in my teachers class with Hunington's disease I think it's called. But she lost contact of her, hopefully she lives. ANYWAYS, answer respectfully please or dont answer at all!

Okay, first is I have a very low grade fever, like 99.5. I'm freezing and I feel like I have a much higher fever. It's hard to explain.. you know how your skin feels when you have a high fever/flu.. ... all achey? Yeah.. and when I move too fast I get really dizzy and lightheaded. I have no allergies/cold symptoms. Could this be a sinus infection without feeling like I have a cold?
