My partner has a new job working reno at a hospital. He came home today with a cold sore and neither of us has ever had one before. He thinks he caught it there, but how common would this be? How long the the virus lay on inorganic surfaces? Wouldn't it have to be a bit more direct like I have one, I drink a drink, you drink right after me and now you have one? Either way, I know he's not off kissing someone with a blistered lip (or even a non-blistered one for that matter).

I am freaking out. I am terrified of std's and getting them. This might sound like a stupid question to some but is there anyway I could get the infection because we share the same bathroom. She has told me before that sometimes she uses my towel but she doesn't tell me this until after I use it again and I am freaking out. Please give me any information you can. If this can be transmitted by sharing the same bathroom or sharing towels. I am extremely nervous. All advice or knowledge is appreciated.

When there is an outbreak of a disease for example, and they trace it back to a single source, what is that person called. There is a specific name for that person.

I just bought these Halls Defense Vitamin C drops from my campus bookstore. My throat is sore and I decided to get these because they say when you're sick you need vitamin C, so even though I have a sore throat, I didn't pick the vapor ones. Thought I'd get to the root of the problem :P I'm having hot tea too. Anyway, will these drops be helpful for the sore throat/ whatever illness I'm getting, and also can I take them every 2 hours like the other Halls drops? No directions on my package. Thanks.

My boyfriend had meningitis for about three months at the beginning of this year... I didn't really know him then.
But I've heard that, even after a person gets past having meningitis, they still carry it with them, always.
Is this true?

Once you've had c-diff, are there any after-effects from it 2-3 mos later? (e.g. lots of gas, cramping once in a while, etc.) The c- -diff was treated twice since the first antibiotics didn't work, and it resurfaced 5 days after the first 10-day course of antibiotics. Hasn't resurfaced since the second 10-day course. Any tests that should be done? Any experiences out there?

I live in Las Vegas, so mosquito bites aren't really common. This summer, it's really humid for some reason. I'm really scared of WNV since my sisters keep teasing me about it. I have two bites. One on the top my wrist, which is the size of about your thumbnail and healthy-looking pink, and one on the side of my pinky that is the same color as my pinky. The mosquitos in my house are just small, itsy ones. Would I get west nile virus? Are there any home-made ways for getting rid of the mosquitos? I already put a small cup of garlic powder in my room. Anything else?
