Is there any one who can for sure tell me that whether AIDS as a disease is more devastating than Malaria, Diarrhea and TB? I mean the disease that can take life in a large scale and in shortest possible time. If the answer is no then why the great nations and the world bodies are spending millions of dollars for a few and ignoring the greater risk to greater number of people specially the poorer countries where malnutrition is the major problem and to fight with Malaria, Diarrhea and TB is the order of the day. Should we not re-thinks about the allocation of fund?

First off - if you are a Dr. or know a Dr. in the specialty of Gastroenterology who is on the cutting edge of new treatments - please IM golden_autumn_dancer (on yahoo network). Please read on - Every time my mom eats (even bland foods like plain boiled chicken or babyfood veggies) she gets so much acid that she thows up violently or burps so louldly it is amazing in such a petite woman. Her stomache is litterally killing her. She was thin to begin with, but this is insane!
She has had her gallbladder removed (it was found to be 100% inactive) she has had mulitple scopes (done by local gastroentrologists), eaten the radioactive stuff, has had a metal rod with a camera down her throat all night long and has had a CT scan. She was also tested for H. Pylori (negative). The findings were slow motility and a tiny Hiatle Hernia. Both of which should have been able to be effectively treated with medications. The medications do not work; she is getting sicker! She has had this for 14 years.

Ok well my fiance is getting chills, sore throat, stuffy head and her brother just got bad chills from out of nowhere. I was wondering what this could be? I live in Georgia(U.S.A) the temp. here is usually in the 80's during the day and lower 70's at night. So I wouldn't think the flu. What is it?

To get over a minor cold? (Minor runny nose, itchy throat/cough)

I mean a medicine that actually helps you get better and recover, not a medicine to just cover-up the symptomes.

I had some blood work done because I have multiple swollen lymph nodes, I was tired, and I had sore muscles.
The blood work came back positive for something called "valley fever."
aside from a little tired, occasional headaches, sore muscles and swollen lymph nodes... I feel fine.
So I was a little freaked out when I read on the internet that you could die from this, and that there's a "Valley Fever Survivors" web page.
Am I going to be really sick and possibly die? I'm only 17 and I feel pretty healthy...

i have read everywhere that its only contracted by contaminated surfaces or through the infected person coughing or vomiting or sneezing. But in our local news report they say "Spread by air, water and personal contact, noroviruses are highly contagious and can survive in food, water and the environment for long periods."
Spreads by air? But they arent like colds they arent airborne? or so i read??? Is that true????
