Only if the dog does in fact have rabies. I was under the assumption that the dog had to actually bite a person though, although I have been known to be wrong.

No worries. Considering it is YOUR dog and it gets yearly rabies shots, it should not be a problem at all. Domestic dogs who have had a rabies shot, let alone yearly shots, have little if no chance of contacting rabies. Now if you were talking about a stray dog or another animal, I would suggest you get checked immediately. On top of that, you are talking about a scratch and not a bite (when a dog bites you, there is saliva and or blood and that is where the rabies virus is found).
Best of luck, but no worries, you have nothing!

I can't see why you would. You said that your dog gets yearly shots. The only way for you to contract rabies from a dog is if the dog itself is rabid and they need to bite into your flesh for its saliva to mix with your blood. A small scratch wouldn't pass the virus on even if it were slightly rabid.
Hope this helps and have a great day/night!!!

I doubt you will get rabies unless your dog has rabies. Gosh if just a scratch would give you rabies, I would be getting it all the time. My dogs bites my ankels and toes and everything. But if you are still worried about it talk to your doctor.

Probably not. Rabies is spread through infected fluids, and a scratch doesnt seem like it would transmitt. If your dog gets immunized, and is acting normal, you should be fine.
