Everyone who is alive is at risk for HIV or multiple other desieses, and yet the Red Cross still discriminates against gay men, not allowing them to donate, reguardless of whether they're healthy or not. Isn't this a bit out-dated? Is there a better reason besides gay men might be at a higher risk for HIV?

Is there a such thing as a Herpes Test? My doctor said that there isn't. My girlfriend who lives out of town said she had a Herpes test & she has Type 2. I wanted to go get tested in that case & my doctor of internal medicine is saying there is not any such test. My girlfriend said that she had the Western Blot Test and my doctor said it is an Aids test. Is that true and do they really not have a Herpes Test?

Would you socially and physically isolate yourself or would you try to spend as much time as you could with the people you cared about the most, because you did not know how much time you had left with them even if it ment exposeing them to the disease? What about if you unknowingly spread the disease just by being up and doing everyday things. What would you do?

I've always had low white blood cells, meaning around 3.8. Recently when I've been sick my tests reveal 2.5-2.7 levels. What's up with this?
My doctor sent me to a Hematologist to do blood work and I am still nervous waiting for replies. I am HIV negative, and some Lupus tests that my pcp tests me on came back negative, and hepatitis was negative...
My hematologist wants to do her tests for Lupus, and something related to Lymphoma b/c my lymph were high at 68 and the ones in my neck have been swollen.
I am a little nervous. I am married and have a 2 year old.
Any advice? Also is there anything dietary related to increase my WBCs?
Thanks in advance.

The boil is located on my lower right back/upper butt cheek. It looks a little infected, It doesn't hurt when I touch it either. I am thinking it may be from an infected hair follicle but with the outbreak of MRSA I thought I should check and see what some one else thinks.

I hadn't had a stomach flu or food poisoning in years, but this year I've had it five times, and this last time my neck hurt through the whole thing, and it lasted a week instead of the couple days it had before. That was a few weeks ago and now I can feel the symptoms coming on again (including the neck pain), and I've already been throwing up for three days. What's wrong with me?

I know the neck pain is indicative of viral meningitis, but it seems unlikely I could be getting it twice. Am I the unluckiest person I know or is there something seriously wrong with me?
