Yes. You have to come in direct contact with the disease. That's why kids are getting it by sharing towels and gym equipment. The staph comes in contact with a sore, pimple, etc of one kid then another touches the same thing. Most of the time, staph lives in the nose and the throat. So yeah, kissing is a great way to get it.
