No it is not hereditary, but if your mother has it while pregnant, you can get it.
If your grandmother had it, and your mother does not, you will not have it.

No. A child can get it through the mother's blood in utero, but this is the only way it's passed to offspring, if the mother is infected. It is a virus. Viruses are not hereditary.

NO! AIDS is only transferrable from somebody who is infected with, by either sexual relations, blood transfusion, or sharing needles.
The only way it can be transfirred from mother to child, is through a vaginal childbirth. (C-Sections have helped eliminate the transfer from mother to child!)
Unbeknownest to most, AIDS was first discovered in the 1930's in African monkeys.

No AIDS/HIV is not inherited but it can be transmitted during the birth process. If a HIV infected man has sex with a non-infected woman and she becomes pregnant and doesn't get the HIV virus, then the child would not have HIV virus either. HIV/AIDS is an infection, it doesn't alter ones DNA to transmit to the next generation.

No, not in the sense that it is passed genetically. It can be communicated to the fetus of a pregnant woman who has aids.

If at all the child gets it, it is vertical transmission thru mothers blood/secretions. It is not hereditory. Hope it helps.
