My daughter hasn't been sick since she was 2 years old so I don't know about what to do at this age. It's the third day of this. Fever spikes in afternoon and breaks in the middle of the night. She is keeping down fluids after vomiting on the first day. I have heard that a fever is the bodies way of fighting viruses but should I still give a fever reducer or just let it ride it's course? She doesn't complain of sore throat or have any rashes, but she does have a dry cough. Thanks in advance for any advice you have. We really want to avoid taking her to the doctor and exposing her to more germs while she is less tolerant.

My mother had surgery this past July to remove a bone fusion from one of her feet as well as to amputate a toe. It didn't seem to be healing properly and she began to get small blisters on her foot (near the incision) as well as on her palms and even had a few on her face. Her doctor told her she had a staph infection and prescribed antibiotics and 3 weeks of steroids...now she continues to have the symptoms. Her palms and fingers are covered in itchy, cracking, and oozing blisters. She also has a sore in her nose that won't go away. She's a very tiny woman (about 5'3" 100 lbs.) and has a number of other health problems including several issues with her heart. So, this worries me to an extent...she's been told before that if she ever suffered from a serious infection she could very well not survive it. Could any of this be symptoms of a staph infection that was just never treated properly? Any help would be much appreciated.

I was reading a story in a magazine talking about a woman with Scabies, she said that when she went out into the cold, the bugs were falling off of her, is that possible?

I live in a bubble (yes, just like The Bubble Boy on Seinfeld) and it is becoming infested with my own fart stink. I can no longer stand it, and I am wondering if I should just unzip and get some clean air?

I was wondering it is true what they say about garlic! Does it really kill viruses, such as stomach flu and influenza?? How much should a person take and is it safe for school age children? I was just reading an article on this and was wondering if anyone has tried it, and if it really works?

Well I woke up this morning, with a very dry mouth, and spitting up mucus, and also a minor headache. I then opened my mouth to check inside and had noticed I had swollen tonsil, and the left one appears to be a bit larger than the right, and the sore throat hurts just a little more on the left. I can still swallow water, and just took tylenol for the headache, so I can swallow pills. I was just wondering what this could be. Anyone have any idea. Could it be a virus that I just have to wait out? I also had mono already a few months ago during summer I believe, as well as tonsillitis some time during winter i believe, or fall. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a nurse and recently we admitted a patient with Typhoid. Infection controll said that because she was being treated we didn't need to isolate. We all nursed her using universal precations but some of us are getting sick.
