Well I woke up this morning, with a very dry mouth, and spitting up mucus, and also a minor headache. I then opened my mouth to check inside and had noticed I had swollen tonsil, and the left one appears to be a bit larger than the right, and the sore throat hurts just a little more on the left. I can still swallow water, and just took tylenol for the headache, so I can swallow pills. I was just wondering what this could be. Anyone have any idea. Could it be a virus that I just have to wait out? I also had mono already a few months ago during summer I believe, as well as tonsillitis some time during winter i believe, or fall. Any help would be appreciated.

Please go see your doctor soon. You need to rule out strep throat. Chances are it may be just a virus, butit is strep season and your symptoms do sound like it could be that. Strep left untreated can be dangerous. Eventually it can harm your kidneys and can affect your heart. So don't wait, go be checked. They will do a throat swab and it is wise to do a back up culture if the quick strep comes back negative. Until you see the doc, try gargling with warm salt water (1 teaspoon salt to 8 oz water) and take tylenol or ibuprofen. Chloroseptic strips work well also. The salt water garle will help reduce the swelling and inflammation.

Oil of oregano P73 found at The Vitamin Shoppe or online with kill any and all virus or bacteria in your system. Nutribiotic grapefruit seed throat spray found online. Seagate oil leaf extract throat spray found online and at some stores. Those are some treatments to consider. Stop eating grains and corn products while this toxicity leaves your body. And no sugary junk food. I have used Cat's Claw and Oregamax for awhile and have not gotten sick for over a year now. Good luck.

Throat infections are very common, this is because this is a main germ/virus entry point to your body. I've certainly had what your talking about at least once before, i got told to do things old-fashioned!
-Go to your local curry house, order the hottest thing you can find, I had an extremely hot chicken curry, for some reason it burned away the pain and croakyness.
-Deink lots of Orange juice in the meantime, it soothes your throat and help you to not be croaky.

There's alot of things it could be. A nasty cold, tonsillitis, again, strep throat, the beginning of the flu...

I suggest you go to a doctor so that it doesn't get worse, and I'm sure he'll be able to tell you what it is.
