I'm an 18 year old American national staying in South Korea.

For the past two days I've been unusually tired, and I slept way more than usual (like 14 hours both days) yet am still tired. I've got a massive headache, painfully swollen glands, fatigue, and I'm not sure but a possible low-grade fever.

From those symptoms I've deduced two possibilities. I'd like more information, and to know which is likely, and what I should do about it.

1) Supposedly everyone in Korea has had mononucleosis (kissing disease) early on in life. So does that mean I definitely would get it from my significant other here? What is the likeliness? Best possible recovery time? Also I've only been here 15 days, and they say it takes 4-6 weeks to develop. (Which makes me think it's not mono)

2)I didn't get much sleep for the past week or two. So could sleep deprivation cause these symptoms? How much sleep do I need, like if I slept for 24 hours straight would I get better?

My little is 13 and about 4 times a day after it snows he comes in with big salad bowls filled with snow that may or may be hours or days old. Can he infectious disease from this, even if a dog hasn't peed or **** on it? On a scale from one to ten, how high or low on the disgusting meter would you rate this. Ten being super gross and 1 being normal.

Seriously they keep pushing the "Meningitis Vaccine" and now on the news they keep saying "Were 500 people in this bar exposed to Meningitis?" That is like asking if 500 people were exposed to "fever"

Meningitis is inflammation of the meninges which can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or in some cases no known cause. The most common cause in children is Haemophilus influenzae. The so-called Meningitis vaccine for adults vaccinates against Meningococcal bacteria. Meningococcal can cause meningitis, but does not always cause meningitis and not all meningitis is cause by Meningococcal.

Why do we allow doctors, the government and the media to feed us such inaccurate propaganda all the time? What can we do to stop the media and government from continuing with this propaganda and inaccurate information?

I'm coming down with the flu and it's terrible! My throat is swelling up a tad, the chills are freezing over, and my head feels like it's about to explode. I'll likely wake up tomorrow with full-fledged influenza. What steps should I take to ensure that I get rid of this beast as soon as possible? What should I NOT do? What medicine is best? Will the doctor be able to help? How long should I expect it to last if I take proactive measures to get rid of it? Thanks for the help, I hope this doesn't last! :(
