I think you shud try steaming hot tea with lemon and honey!! Works like a charm....and try not to talk bcuz that will only strain it.

Sore throats are very touchy. It may be caused from sinus drainage or it could be as bad as strep.
Only a culture can rule out strep. Strep is BAD. Do you have small white pus pockets on your throat? IF you do, see a doctor. You should be running a fever also. Strep can cause Rheumatic Fever which will mess up the heart valves and THAT will last a life time.
Home cure? Gargle with salt water. There is a spray you can get at a store that will deaden your throat temporary.

Yes, gargling with warm salted water. I've also heard of gargling with cidar vinegar but I don't think I could do that.

try hot honey and lemon. also gargling with soluble aspirin will help - as long as you are over 16 years of age and not asthmatic.

All of the above is good. I also use lemon and peppermint candy. I cut the lemon in half and stick a peppermint candy in it then lick it. It really helps me.

I only know of one that works. i have used it all my life and it has never failed me.
1 tbs of lemon juice
1/2 tsp of olive or flaxsed oil
1 tsp of Swedish Bitters
For Swedish bitters ask at you local herbalist, they shoud have some handy.
