Infectious Diseases - January 2007

I brought my teenage daughter to the doctor because she had a painful swollen gland on one side of her neck and a sore throat. I just found a note she wrote to a friend that said two days before the onset of the symptoms she had snuck out in the middle of the night and was 'kickin it' with him. I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor. The internet research I've done shows confilciting info.

i know someone who is on methadone(maintance) and also has hepatitis c, has been offered interferon alfa and ribavirn treatment for this but is'nt sure about the long term effects of methadone use

Myself included now its almost a month later and I still cough alot,cant sleep much ,have a runny nose ,chills feel wiped out alot.Everyone else is better.Tomorrow Im going to the doctor for the second time as Im still miserable.I have autoimmune thyroid disease too.Could that be why Im still sick and they are all better?

My school has been giving injections on MMR and DTP.

I want to know do these kill because I can remember last year that there were a few cases on the news about this stuff!

Also where do the put it in? In the muscle and blood and I've been hearing that if they cant find a vein they stick it up your backside OUCH!

Do they go in both arms?

what will it fell like when the needle goes into you and what will it feel like 1/2hrs later?

If I dont have this what will happen to me?
