I'm in Iowa and it's spreading here at unbelievable rates. It's infected everyone in my house, and everyone I've come in contact with.

It starts with a nasty headache which turns into a high fever that lasts for days. Along with that is dizziness, sore and achy muscles, and itchy eyes and nose. I'm at the end of day 3 and still not better, my youngest daughter has been sick for 5 days now.

I don't think I've seen an illness quite like this before and was just wondering if it was happening anywhere else.

The influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than World War I at somewhere between 20 and 40 million people. More people died of influenza in a single year than in four-years of the Black Death Bubonic Plague from 1347 to 1351. Known as "Spanish Flu" or "La Grippe" the influenza of 1918-1919 was a global disaster.

As you plan, it is important to think about the challenges that you might face, particularly if a pandemic is severe. What social disruptions will occur? Will you continue to work or face a reduction or loss of income? What will happen to our children in school? How will you individually or as a family survive food/water wise if public transportation systems go down?

What are some of the possible ways to address these challenges and situations?

My father is in the hospital and has been diagnosed with MRSA. It went untreated for 5 days and has spread from his skin into the bone of his foot. He has swelling of the feet, legs, groin, etc. They have drain about a cup of pus out of his foot yesterday and today and informed us that if they couldn't remove all of the pus in the next 2 days that they are going to amputate the foot and possibly part of the leg. We don't know what to do and he hasn't been getting the best care at this treatment center he is in. I just need to know how serious this actually is.

Has anyone else had a below "normal" body temp? Is 96 considered somewhat normal? I know that "normal' is 98.6 but just wondering if it can safely range without there being any conditions?? Thanks and i know this is a somewhat silly question.

My mom stayed at my house last night and left this morning, and then mid-day today she came down with one of the worst cases of flu, she can barely get out of bed. Could I have caught it from that minimal exposure, or is someone not contagious until they actually have the symptoms? Also can you catch it just by being near someone who has the flu (is it airborne?) I'm just trying to figure out how to know if I'm in the clear or if I should be worried. Thanks!

In my classroom at school there is an unsafe level of carbon dioxide. They made my room out of a closet. No ventilation. Administration says they made the problem better, but think I am a "whiner" for being concerned about my health. Should I be? I was wondering what too much exposure to carbon dioxide can do to a person. What symptoms can happen right away and what sypmtoms are long term?

This was my second bout of flu. I went to the doctor, took my antibiotics and other medications, and now I am taking a tonic cold and cough remedy. It does not seem to be working. I have no zeal to do anything, because I tire easily, and I cold sweat sometimes. I feel dizzy when I walk around or bend down.My hands feel shaky, and I don't feel like eating.
