I woke up this morning with a sore throat. As the day went on, it hurts alot more than it did, it's all red and swollen, I have a headache and it feels like a pain in the ears, and my body is sore. Is this just strep or maybe the flu? I havent called a dr yet, because I dont have health insurance, so it would be really expensive...

When I went to Australia they were big on meningococcal, and when I search for meningococcal, I get stuff on meningitis. But from what I learned about meningitis in school (long time ago) it didn't seem like what the Australians were saying meningococcal is. So then is there some other connection? or do the different countries just focus on teaching different symptoms? or is it really 2 different things?

Around 30 minutes after eating a burger and yogurt at Wendy's yesterday, I started to feel sick. I work 45 minutes away from home and on my way home, I was shaking, extremely nauscious, and sweating profusly. Ever since then, I have had a slight headache, occasional cramps and very tired. I have no fever but my head feels kind of fuzzy.

She is starting childcare on Monday, and I know how easy it is going to be for colds to be spread from child to child. I see commercials for products such as airborn, and emergen C, but I don't know if there is anything geared towards children.

And if you're not 100% immune, how much immunity does your body normally provide against a second attack? I guess I'm basically asking about viruses and flu. Thanks in advance for your help!

My husband was just diagonsed with invasive aspergillousis. He does not have a compromised immune system according to the doctors. He works in an agriculture setting where these fungi are prevalant.
What is the outlook for him? He has it in his ears and mastoid bone but seems to be responding to the V-fend anti-fungal drug he is on.
However, he went for 6 months with symptoms before they identified it. Is it too late to be cured? What are the side effects of the drug v-fend?
Is their anyone out there who has recovered form this rare disease and can advise me as to what we are facing? Help.

hello! yesterday the doctor told me that i've bee suffering from scabbies which solved my month long itching. he gave me and my family premethrin 5% lotion and told us that we must put it on for 14 hours. after 14 hours i took bath with luke warm water and went to bed. after i woke up much of my irritation had gone and after a month i had cuddled like anything. but uptil now i feel a little bit irritation and there are rashes and there are still pink pimple like boils on my hands. what should i do? is it normal that the irritation continues and the boils remain on the hands for a while or is the scabbies mite is still there. the doctor told me that the use of premethrin is for once and if the ichting continues the lotion should be used after 14 days. should i use the premethrin lotion. he told me to visit him again after one week so what should i do in the mean time? it is making me scared plz reply as soon as possible.

routine culture showed e-coli in urine, but the culture was clean. He said bascteria is in the tract, physically. No infection, normal WBC. I still have a burning sensation in the last few seconds of peeing. I am more comfortable when I drink LOTS of water and cranberry. What shall I do? It seems bacteria is still in my urine tract, how do I get rid of it.
