I got flu (fever, body aches, runny nose, and sore throat) Now all symptoms are gone except for the throat and a dry mouth. But my gf also got the exact same symptoms the next she met me on my first day of flu. She drank from my bottle of water despite me telling her not to.

Main question - Flu spread and surface within less than few hours?
Secondary Question: Why my throat inflammation caused my tongue to be dry as well. Currently only on anti-fever tablets and anti-inflammation for throat tablets, lastly cough syrup.

My 5 month old daughter and 4 year old son both had positive strep tests almost two weeks ago but neither had a sore throat. My daughter had a fever, my son was vomiting with no fever. I have it now too with no sore throat, but stomach pains...are there different strains of it? How long til it goes way? Nearly the whole household is still sick!

I have noticed that sometimes when I am in the early stages of a cold or getting sick, if I get wasted that night the next day after I recover from my hangover my sickness is gone, if not better!

Several other people have reported this phenomena. In theory, could the alcohol in the bloodstream be killing or weakening the illness?

In May/2000 i was vaccinating a sow with "Porcine Parvo" about 10cc's and a very dirty syringe caked on the inside with old vaccines. I received the vaccine through a 15 guage needle gun, which punctured through my left hand and damaged nerves and my tendon sheeth. I was then rushed to hospital for treatment as i was unable to use my left hand, not to mention the severe pain. I was sent home that night and checked in with them the next 3 days and on the fourth i was admitted to the hospital as i became very ill. The plastic surgeon talked about amputating my hand,i refused and my hand got better enough to not loose my hand but i still had pain and problems. NO DOCTOR knew what to do or what it would do to me,out of the hospital and still searching my options. I had numerous tests done and finaly an MRI on my left hand which showed up a mass on my nerves and tendon sheeth. July/2002 i had hand surgery to remove the mass BUT i am still suffering . Can anyone help with some answers?? Thanks

My wife is a health professional from the UK who needs to undergo treatment against MRSA (hospital killer bug) before being able to work in New Zealand. Apparently, all European nurses carry the bug, and New Zealand is proud to be MRSA-free and makes the treatment mandatory if tested positive, which is the case in almost 100% of all cases of newly-arrived nurses from Europe and the UK.
She's worried about what she might be subjected to - can anyone shed some light?
Thanks.
