I have noticed that sometimes when I am in the early stages of a cold or getting sick, if I get wasted that night the next day after I recover from my hangover my sickness is gone, if not better!

Several other people have reported this phenomena. In theory, could the alcohol in the bloodstream be killing or weakening the illness?

label free made a very valid point! many have hcv and do not know it, but yet they have several risk factors...(everyone does).
alcohol is a toxin. it is a man made substance that can be benificial to a certain degree, but organ damaging in a worse degree.

we grew up with dad making us hot toddies when we were ill with the flu. one drink warmed, honey and wiskey at night only.

Actually Liquor is what will do it for you. Alcohol does nothing for you at all, except feel worse. Next time you get sick, try some Rum, or Vodka, it warms you up real good. Also some peppermint Schnops is a really good sickness ridder.

Are you sure it's when you get a cold? It could just be an allergy to dust or something making you get sniffles and a sore throat, and they typically last 24 hours.

Many years ago my boss told me to heat a half pint of bourbon and gulp it down to cure a cold. It does wonders!

Dear Poster,

Truly it could be true however I wouldnt subscribe to this method compared to a doctors look.

As a recovering addict/acholic myself I did this for years which I had found out later I had a VERY dangerous serious "TREATABLE" disease... HEP C.

If you do this Please go get a blood test from your doctor because you have to ASK for this test it doesnt come out in regular blood work..
Peace,
xox
