hookworm such as Necator americanus or Ancylostoma duodenale how can they cause anemia?

Hookworms such as those you have mentioned contain cutting plates and teeth in their oral areas. They also release a substance that thins out the blood so when they suck, the wound doesnt clot up.

Severe hookworms infection can cause a significant anemia because each work can ingest blood 0.1ml/day. If you have a lot of hookworms your in big trouble.

Personally, I have seen hookworm eggs, both types of hookworms, and had patients with hookworms. Never had any myself though. :)

because when they enter your body they basically feeld of you taking all your nutrience. Its like having a baby, gross huh. pople that have worms are usually really weak and tired all the time too. Hope this helps

They live on blood, and they attach themselves to the blood vessels. So the more they reproduce inside, the more blood they consume, the less you have inside and you become anemic.

they anchor to a suitable piece of you, and suck blood for nutrition, so, you get weak anemic and lethargic, hair gets dull etc. every one should worm themselves once a year regardless of if you have kids or pets,and every 6 months if you do!
