I have chronic abdominal pain in my lower right quandrant to my belly button, but never get a fever and the pain comes and goes. I have had ultrasounds and have also had my gallbladder removed. It seems to be getting more frequent.

ok, more details, I have had a hysterectomy, my bladder tacked back up in place and my gallbladder removed. Not sure what else they could have taken, but the pain may be from sutures, or the intestines may be blocked from scar tissue? The doctors can't find anything but I still have pain and burning in that lower right quadrant. Maybe something I am just going to have to live with.

Nope, because an attack of appendicitis results in the removal of the appendix. No more appendix pain will result if you have had your appendix removed. If not you would be in extreme pain from appendicitis. You may have a hernia or an obstructed bowel of some sort or another; best to see a gastroenterologist. I really do hope this helps you out.

Appendicitis is an infection of the appendix, and that gets the appendix removed in a surgical procedure.

You are female. You have some very important working parts in your lower abdominal quandrants, as well as other organs.

I would talk to your OB/GYN to make sure you don't have any problems with your ovaries, fallopian tubes, endemetriosis, or other possible "female only" problems.

I would also see an internist about any other possible problems. But I would make the OB/GYN appointment first.

upper right quadrant pain or lower qaundrant pain could be a sign of liver disease. having gallbladder issues and removal is also highly indicative of liver disease.

i assume the doctors feel your okay if they have done a liver panel, but your not out of the woods yet.

there is a liver disease caused by a double stranded rna virus called hepatitis c. with this disease your labs can appear normal, ie, alt and ast levels are not always increased in those with hcv and sometimes they can wax and wane throughout the entire chronic illness.

request a hepatitis c test from your doctor and please take this information with you. many doctors do not know enough about the history of hcv.

chances are most people have risk factors that can be as innocent as having your nails done up to drug use or blood transfusion, sharing a toothbrush or razor with infected blood on it (whether fresh or dried as hcv reconstitutes in liquid)

sometimes pain is hard to pinpoint because pain can sometimes radiate towards other parts of the body before you feel it.

the only other thing i can think of as to your pain would be polycystic ovaries if you've only had a partial hysterectomy.

good luck!
