The mites cause damage to the skin, so even though the mites are dead the skin damage still needs to heal. If the pimples have yellow heads I think you need to go back to the doctor as you may have some infection. The doctor is the best person to advise you on re treatment;

At the same time as putting the cream on did you boil wash all of your bed sheets, clothes etc, give the carpets curtains and settee cusions a good wash, boil if you can.
Scabies lay their eggs in the seams of you clothes and on your bed sheets, if you dont rid them from your house 100% then you will just re-infect your self.
Are you sure you definately have scabies and not dermatitus they are very similar looking but dermatitus is just a skin condition, its best to get a second opinion as sometimes doctors make mistakes with these conditions quite often.

HI - I was once unfortunate enough to catch scabies from a friend who worked in an old people's home of all places. I had to use an ointment which was applied for 24 hours and I was told that the irritation could last up to six weeks as although the mites are dead the protein from their body is still in your skin. Sounds logical to me.

Rashes and irritation will continue for a few days, even if the mites are gone.

Try having a bath,and add some bicarbonate of soda to it.This will help to relieve the redness you have.
Also take some phenygan.This medicine contains an anti-histamine which help to relieve any itching.
Use these for a couple of days,and if they don't help,go back to your doctors.

did you change your bed lined for everyone and wash it on a hot wash when you used the lotion? If not you washed off the scabies killer and reinfested yourself on the dirty sheets. Go back to the doctor.
