You may catch it if it becomes in contact with mucus membrane ie the inside of the mouth or nose. The easiest way to ingest this poison is not to wash your hands after handling drink bottles. How anyone drinks beer straight from a bottle is beyond me as the risk is huge.

Also known as Weils Disease. Very dangerous and has now come in along the canals very close to Inner London. Dogs can contact it by sniffing. Humans through drinking tainted water or through open cuts or wounds.
