After eating within 15 minutes I am feeling very poorly.
I am 28 weeks pregnant.
My sugar level is high after eating but then drops after 75 minutes. For that first hour I think I need something from the doctor because I am too ill to function and need to go to bed to sleep it off!
What could the doctor give me? Whats wrong with me.
Thanks so much.

Hi all, I had my 2 hour glucose test yesterday and the results showed a slightly elevated fasting result and a high 1 hour result. But then after 2 hours the level dropped to normal range.
I am feeling so so so ill after eating anything at all and feel like I am cracking up now. My symptoms of palpitations, tiredness and weakness occur in the first 60-75 minutes after eating anything.
Whats wrong with me and what can they do for me?
Please help me out I am at breaking point now.
Thanks. I have to go to see specialist midwife next tuesday because of the 1 hour result being so high. I am 28 weeks pregnant.

Is it true that people with diabeties tend to weigh more than people without it? Is it because those people werre overweight to begin with or do they gain a lot after being diagnosed?
If this is true, why is it the case?

This whole diabetes thing seems a bit confusing to me - it seems you can have a mild form of it or on your death bed - can someone sort our 'the grey area' for me please?

For example, how do you know if you are going to the loo excessively or if your eye sight is not as good as it was due to problems with your eyes or some form of diabetes.

Basically what is truth and what is political correctness.

I know everyones body is different and all that, but what are the signs you should really look for and what is chaff - if you are overweight, what are the real danger signals please ?

Sometimes I'm suspicious that the motives of doctors are more about their relationship with the drugs companies than it is with their patients!

Has anyone used or known someone who has used the Paradigm Real-Time system or glucowatch? I am a 40 year old single mother who has been diabetic since 19 and over the last year I have had 2 very severe low blood sugar incidents overnight where my son has ended up calling 911 for as I was unresponsive.

the juvenile diabetes association claims it is caused by a virus that attacks the pancreas that kills the beta cells. They say it is not genetic but the weakness for it 'may' be. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am 34, 5'8" and weigh 250 pounds. I have battled weight since I needed knee surgery in 1994 (sports injury)... so my weight has been yo-yoing since then... from 220 to 250 pounds.

When I checked my glaucose level last year it was 89, normal is between 90-140 i believe....

I don't exercise every day but once a week I jog/hike for 3 hours straight. I pretty much eat everything from greasy burgers to chinese food. But I don't drink coffee, smoke or drink alcohol.

So am I in danger??????

Hello all, I am wondering what causes a blood glucose level to go sky high for the first 1 hour of a glucose test but then return to sensible limits by the 2 hour result. Is this diabetes or just intolerance?
I am 27 weeks pregnant.

Today I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled; I wasn't knocked out they just numbed the area so I was awake the whole time. I'm 20 and a type 1 diabetic for almost 9 years, and I just started the pump about 3 weeks ago (best decision of my life). After they numbed me, I started freaking out and I could feel my bs drooping fast. Then I actually saw one of the teeth that they pulled and I was so pissed, like I wanted to punch the dentist in the face and I'm not a violent person at all. It was like an emotional rollar coaster. Any other type 1's been through something similar? Any weird stories you want to share, I bet their interesting.
