Well, there is a handy dandy tool you can use. It's the Glycemic Index! You will learn that bagels are a no no but an English Mufin is okay as long as you lean eat protein with it. Eating fiber with lean protein keeps your blood sugar on an even level better than any other combination of foods. The lower the carbohydrates, higher fiber with lean protein is best.

Exercise every day for half an hour minimum. The kind of exercise that makes you sweaty and pink cheeked is what you want to do.

Keep an eye on your blood sugar. If you keep in in a notebook with the date and time you can look and see if you see a pattern. If your blood sugar is always out of whack after dinner, plan better meals. If your blood sugar is nutty in the morning, you might have to have a protein rich snack before bed.

Go take a look:http://www.glycemicindex.com/

Your diabetes is your issue. You have to take care of it, nobody else will do it for you. Your habits will determine the quality of your life, you family's life, and how good you feel. Take care and stay active!

Hopefully you are under a doctor's care and on medication of some sort if it's that serious. Also, important to check your blood sugar regularly at home. How to control it? Well, obviously watch your sugar intake - don't forget even fruit sometimes has too much sugar. The best thing to do is to eat mini meals throughout the day rather than go long periods of time without anything at all.

Eat 3 healthy meals a day with a high protein snack between each meal and at bedtime to help keep your blood sugar more level. Limit your carbs as these turn directly into glucose. Also try taking cinnamon capsules as this helps too. Get regular exercise daily and watch your weight.

The best way of controlling blood sugar is healthy eating. You have to watch everything you ingest. Also exercise, and maintain a healthy weight. You can also search on-line, and in hospitals for information that can help. Just go into a seach engine (yahoo.com, ask.com, google.com, also medline plus) If you haven't seen a doctor yet, you should. First research different treatments, then talk to your doctor to see which one would best work for you. There are herbal remedies and then medicinal/insulin treatments. They can also refer you to a nutritionist in order to show you the healthiest food choices for you.The best answer is to love yourself, and take care of your body. When you do this it will take care of you.

Be on guard on eating sweets, carbo and starches. More on veggies. Fruits? Just a slice of for example an apple, melon,,etc. Biscuits with no sugar. A matchbox of meat only. No stress.
Do you know bittersweet? Do you know that it helps lower down your blood sugar? 4 to 5 times of eating (but small portions of food only).
