How do you know your blood sugar is over 400? Are you testing your own sugars or are you seeing a doctor?
Diabetes is a very complicated disease. There's no way anyone can teach you all you need to know by answering here. You need to speak with someone who can give you sample diets, explain how the food is used in your body, and teach you how to eat properly. You can eat lean meats and fish, you can eat vegetables (corn and green beans, though, are too starchy), you can eat some fruits, and you should have some whole grains.
Because you are a diabetic, you are greatly shortening your life by smoking. There is no cure for diabetes, but there are ways that you can treat it. You absolutely need to see a doctor, most likely to get on some medication for your high blood sugar. Be sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. A blood sugar of over 400 will dehydrate you and you can easily slip into a diabetic coma if it's not controlled. Don't drink fruit juices or alcohol; drink only water.
Tomorrow you must see a doctor. Either go to your own doctor, to a clinic, or or an urgent care center. If all else fails, go to the ER. If you want to live, you must see a doctor.

It depends on the person, one person could be near having a diabetic coma at a blood sugar of 400 and others might be feeling fine at that level. The key is to check your sugars when you are not feeling well and if it is consistently high, go see your doctor to adjust your meds. If your sugars get high like that again, make sure you take your meds as prescribed and get some physical activity like walking to bring the sugars down. Sleep is not the best idea when your sugars are out of normal range, you should put it off until your sugars normalize.

There is no cure for diabetes. You must be compliant or you will wind up in a coma and possibly die. I take it you are seeing a specialist for your diabetes, if not GET ONE! Diabetes is not a disease to fool around with. Your pancrea is not working and you must combine your insulin with diet and exercise to get your blood sugars under control. How much insulin do you take? What kind of foods are you eating? It sounds like your Ketones are out of wack and that's why you are loosing the weight. There's nothing wrong with eating fish and meat. Stay away from sweets, fried foods - anything that is too greasy. Check your blood sugars everyday or more than once a day if necessary. With a blood sugar of over 400, you need to go to your doc. or go on to the ER and get things under control. You could easily go into a coma with a blood sugar that high.

If you sugar is 400 you need to see your doctor today. Extended high blood sugar like that can cause all kinds of danage to your eyes, nerves, blood vessels and your kidneys. You are probably losing weight due to the high sugars and that will stop once your sugars are under control again. Eating meat and fish is fine, but you need to watch the carbs and sugars. Don't drink soda, tea or coffee with sugar in it and don't eat cakes or candies. You should also try to quit smoking because that can really complicate things. There is no way to cure diabetes but with dedication, hard work and lots of will power you can learn to control it and live a long and healthy life. Please call your doctor.

There is NO cure for diabetes honey. BUT, there is HOPE because it is a very MANAGEABLE disease. You need to leave the carbohydrates ALONE for now, and go to your local Emergency Room. 400 is WAY TO HIGH! You could go into a diabetic seizure and/or coma, even death... Diabetes will gradually, over time~ destroy you from the inside out, your eyes, your internal organs, your feet and legs; there is alot more to this than you know. THE GOAL IS TO CHECK YOUR SUGARS OFTEN< AND ADJUST YOUR DIET ACCORDINGLY. If the pasta gave you a high reading, next time- reduce the amount you eat, or cut it from your diet altogether.
I really think what you need to do is talk to your doctor; and see SERIOUSLY about attending a class that will teach you the In's and out's of diabetes management. You can also be referred to a Dietitian. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY, since this is manageable,, you are in control of whether or not it gets out of hand, and subsequently kills you eventually. PLEASE TAKE THIS MORE SERIOUSLY, for your own good, dear!

First off if you're diabetic you already have high risks of complications without the help of smoking. You're blood sugar is so high that I would suggest the emergency room and to seek immediate medical attention. Here is a website that can inform you of what can happen if you don't take control of your blood sugar levels.
And fish and meat if eaten plain are not high risk foods for diabetics. Basically you want to watch your carbohydrate intake, such as rice, potatoes, bread... etc.. Anything that has a high sugar content will also have a high carbohydrate content. Speak with a dietician if possible if not ask your Dr. for a diet plan. Also eat a diabetes friendly meal every 3-4 hours, it will help keep your blood sugar levels steady.
Hope I was of some help, now here is that website. http://www.diabetes.org/type-2-diabetes/complications.jsp

Your diabetes is out of control. With a blood sugar of over 400 (you didn't say if that was a fasting blood sugar or not), you are doing damage to your eyes, kidneys and cardiovascular system. Go to your doctor and get your medication regulated. He can give you information on a diabetic diet or send you to a diabetes class. You don't sound as if you know very much about the disease and it is important that you educate yourself about it. 400 is a critical value. Call your doctor now! I've been diabetic for 6 years and I've never had a blood sugar over 400.
