I've been diagnosed with hypoglycemia for 2 months and I have a dr. appointment in the morning because I can't control it. I had two sevier cases fo hypo in a 14 hour time frame on friday. my questions are: what do you think he will do? who might he refer me too? what test might he do? I'm trying to eat 6 meals a day I'm very healthy I'm just really scared I'm going to get diabeties. I've done reasearch on it. another thing that's compacating it is I'm a competive swimmer. I swim 3 hours a day followed by a 1 hour of intence drylands. Its really very hard core and physically demanding. plus school stress. I just don't know what else to do? I'm sixteen

thanks

i think i may have a condition (i can't for the life of me spell it) that involves giving up sugar completely and introducing it back in again slowly to treat it. and i'm freaking out because i love bread, pasta, chocolate, cookies...anything sugar-y. my question is basically does anyone know of any good foods i could live off of that are 100% sugar free? (i've got rice cakes on my list...that's it.)

Here's the scenario: You're at a restaurant, and you've just ordered a stromboli. Everyone knows the portions are always different wherever you go.
I say you take some insulin, 5-7 units while you wait to see how big the portion is, that way the insulin has the 15-20 minutes to work while the meal is cooking, and the initial high isn't as drastic.
My friend here says you wait to see the portion size before you take any insulin that way it's only one shot.

What do you say? Am I right? How do you usually handle this situation?

Is there any study that shows how people with diabetes type I compare to other people in GDP per capita? I want to know if control of diabetes is so time consuming that is detrimental to peoples' success in life.

A woman that I bumped into again, for the second time..swears that "eating anything with a face" or "eating anything with a head or eyes" is pretty much deadly for diabetics and pretty much everybody in the whole world, in general. She also has told me that eating potatoes, eggs, cheese, butter, milk, ice cream, yogurt, pasta, rice, are all really, really BAD for all of us..that it clogs up our arteries...and colon, and more..so does corn..which human beings cannot digest as well. She has also said that eating meat is horrible for us..because we humans just cannot digest the skin of an animal, that we were not "made" or "born" to do that at all!
Even fish!!

Also, she said the best thing to eat basically is greens...lots and lots of greens and fruits..and nuts...
if cooking use nut oils only!

I would love to know what you all think..and why?

this is mostly about diabetes...but, if you have other info, it would be gladly accepted!!

thank you!!
