Hi, how are we all?

Last night I did a random blood test as I suffer from PCOS and also a strong family history of type 2. Just wondering if this is normal? I am not over weight and I am not too sure if this reading has something to do with me having PCOS.

Thanks all

Take care

Im a diabetic who keeps her sugar under control fairly well. My problem is my feet hurt all the time. My job requires me to be on my feet all the time so it would be understandable if my feet would be sore after work, but they hurt all the time! Iv'e had foot massages and soaked my feet even with epsom salt but nothing seems to work. On my days off they just throb. I know diabetics are supposed to take good care of their feet. They don't burn or tingle just hurt especially the bottom part of my foot. My friend gave me an ultram and that seemed to help the pain. What else can I do? Please help!

my sister just got diagnosed, so we are trying to learn about it by asking questions, i love this site and it was helpful thus far...

1. she was told to get flu and pnemonia shots when they are available. why? obviously not to get these conditions, but what happens if she does and why is it so improtant to get these?

2. she works alot. she has been dragging since she cut out sugar. last night she had a little ice cream because... i guess she felt like it... but after that bite, she felt like she was on top of the world and could work all night. she had so much energy. if she is not supposed to have sugar, why would she feel so much better after having a bite of sugar???

thanks!

My god son has type1 diabetes. He is eleven and has three injections a day plus a Lantis at night. My friend weighs all the food and how much carbohydrate is in the food depends on how many units of Insulin she gives him. This is a new regime and she is absolutely convinced that he is allowed as much sugar as he likes as long as he takes a higher dosage of insulin to compensate. His blood sugar levels are regularly in the twenties and I am worried that she is doing him long term damage. I am positive that diabetics are only allowed sugar as a special treat or when they are hypo. Please can someone who knows answer this question. The hospital are considering pump therapy because they cannot work out the problem. I think its the sugar please help!!!!

I was just wondering, haha. Because I saw a previous question, but a bit different, and this question came to mind. I personally am a diabetic type 1, and have heard that it can lower your lifetime by several years. Thank you(:

I've been on Metformin for several years, & think I'm getting side-effects. I asked the doctor to switch me to something else, & he prescribed Actos. What's your experience?

As far as I know, I do not have diabetes, but every once in a while my vision will get kind of blurry. I do need to get a new prescription for my glasses, but occationally my vision will get fuzzier and then clear up. I noticed today that my vision got fuzzy after I licked clean the frosting bowl (my mom made a cake). Could this be a symptom of diabetes?

I had a mocha frapuccino 1.5 hrs before I had my blood test. Could it possibly elevate my triglyceride count?

I'm 30 y/o and I'm a bit worried. Both my parents has a family history of Diabetes. Could the elevated triglyceride count be on my being out of shape and none dieting, or could the mocha frapuccino be a factor of the elevated triglyceride. It was actuall almost 600 mg/dL.

Thanks guys!

I would assume that with a trememdously smaller amount of food, I would be suffering from a drop in blood sugar. I am insulin resistant and used food to keep my sugar boosted up. How come I am I doing fine now?

My sleeping habit is really not normal. Most of the time I sleep late midnight at around 2 a.m. and wake up early in the morning for my class. Because of this, I usually sleep upon arriving home every afternoon and wake up at night around 10 p.m. to eat, study and do other stuffs. After doing those things, I will sleep at around 2 a.m. One more thing, I'm into eating sweets, i just wonder if that is one reason of my problem.

My husband has the following (and in my opinion, contradicting) symptoms...high blood sugar-between 260 and 400, irritability, he drinks a lot of water and gets up 3-4 times a night to get rid of it, he's lost 30 lbs (5'8", 130 lbs), more recently-he has been extremely lethargic. We are working on getting insurance, I just wanted to get an idea of what's going on?
