I had that too, some years ago. I still don't know what it was. Believe it or not, for me anyway, walking seems to help it. I walk around 4 to 5 miles a day now, and I rarely get it anymore. I also have fibromyalgia, which can mimic neuropathy (among many other things), so it's essential that I keep my blood sugar as low as possible. That way, when I get those symptoms (including numbness and tingling), I can be assured that it's not neuropathy. It's still pretty scary, though. I can't tell you how many times I've taken my BG with feet hurting, tingling, or just numb, only to find it well under 100. Then, I just ignore it and it goes away. I really am cursed by a disease that mimics the complications of the other, but I try to manage the best I can. There really isn't much else I can do. Hope you find some help in these answers. I know what it's like.

First of all, don't take someone else's medication. Secondly, if you're diabetic you should be seeing a podiatrist on a regular basis regardless of whether your sugar is under control or not. A Podiatrist is a "foot doctor" who can get you special shoes made just for diabetics. This will probably help your foot pain. You should also speak with your regualr physician about the pain, because it could be a condition called neuropathy. Your doctor can give you appropriate medication that will help you and not interfare with your other meds.

You need to see a podiatrist. It could be the start of neuropathy or it could be Plantar Fasciitis, or something else. I am diabetic and have Plantar Fasciitis and I can tell you the pain is extreme. Especially after resting, which seems backwards, but there are reasons. In any case you need a dr's diagnoses before taking meds that may not mix with your other meds.

It could be the starting of neuropathy. I have it and my feet ache and hurt all the time. But I also have numbness, tingling, shooting pains and burning. My neuropathy is somewhat advanced due to the fact that I probably had idabetes long before it was diagnosed. At any rate, either see a podiatrist or a neurologist for help and diagnosis. There is medication out there for a person that has neuropathy.

Diabetics need to see a foot doctor on a regular basis as any kind of scrape or scratch could be a potentially larger problem. For instance, the woman who works alongside of me had a bathroom mat where a fiber stuck her foot and embedded itself inside causing an infection that went into her bone which was only remedied by IV antibiotics, surgery (they had to scrape off the infected bone), and weeks of bedrest.
Go to a Diabetics Center (usually in a hospital) for informational updates, treatment and general issues regarding all aspects of Diabetes.
