It is very possible since his father is diabetic. It runs in families. If his father has a blood monitor, have your husband to check his blood sugar in the morning before breakfast and two hours after a meal. Normal is 60-120mg. If it is higher than that, he really needs to see a doctor.
My husband has been a diabetic for many years. I just found out that I am diabetic too. My husband has the same problem with his feet. The doctor prescribed Neurontin 300mg cap. for his burning and hurting feet. This seems to help.

Hold an eye fixed on this and if the discomfort, weakness or tingling continues it may be the beginning of DVT. A vascular physician can perform a Doppler extremely scan test and establish the obstacle. That is very painful and agony capsules do not support. I have had it for over 2 years and the general practitioner was gradual to diagnose it until I was in primary shape. Mine began with a surprising onset of calf affliction and leg swelling. The agony was worse when the leg used to be placing down. There used to be warmth to the field on the grounds that the veins have been inflamed. I am on coumidin (warfarin) as a blood thinner. Ordinarily once they say 6 months, they mean for the rest of your existence. The blood thinner does no longer get to the bottom of the current clot hindrance, but supposedly keeps new clots from forming. Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, is prompted by using a blood clot in a muscle and can be existence-threatening. Signs comprise swelling, ache, and tenderness in the legs. Danger explanations incorporate immobility, hormone therapy, and being pregnant. DVTs can occur anyplace within the body however are most most of the time located in the deep veins of the legs, thighs, and pelvis. They'll sometimes come up from the upper extremities traditionally given that of trauma, or from an indwelling catheter (tubing) or gadget. A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a situation where a blood clot (thrombus) varieties in a vein of the deep procedure. Thrombophlebitis is a wherein there is both infection and a blood clot in a vein. Thrombophlebitis can arise in both superficial or deep veins. Superficial thrombophlebitis occurs in veins just about the dermis floor, and in general explanations pain, swelling, and redness in the field of the vein. Superficial thrombophlebitis usually is treated with warmness, elevation of the affected leg or arm, and anti–inflammatory medications. A thrombosis in a deep vein is a way more severe drawback than one in a superficial vein. The intent for that is that a piece of the clot in deep vein from a DVT can destroy off and travel by way of the deep veins back to the heart, and ultimately be pumped with the aid of the guts into the arteries of the lung. When this occurs, the situation is known as pulmonary embolism (PE). The blood clot is known as an embolus (plural emboli), and the approach of breaking off and touring to the lungs is called embolism. Narcotics didn’t help my suffering. I now take Tizanidine 4mg 5/day and Lyrica Cv one hundred mg three/day. This helps the nerve discomfort and i will stroll some now. I am feeling a lot better anguish smart.

Unless he has other diabetic symptoms probably not. Make an appointment with your podiatrist to get his feet checked out. If they can't see him right away then go to a brick and mortar shoe store that FITS people with shoes and get him fitted for a proper pair of shoes until he gets seen by the podiatrist.
