Hi, how are we all?

Last night I did a random blood test as I suffer from PCOS and also a strong family history of type 2. Just wondering if this is normal? I am not over weight and I am not too sure if this reading has something to do with me having PCOS.

Thanks all

Take care

The current standards for diagnosing type 2 diabetes are as follows:

A single fasting blood glucose of greater than or equal to 126 mg/dl based on 6 hour fasting

Symptoms of polydipsia, polyuria or unexplained weight loss and a non-fasting blood glucose of greater than or equal to 200 mg/dl

or a blood glucose of greater than or equal to 200 mg/dl on a 2 hour glucose tolerance test following a 75 g glucose load.

It is quite normal to have elevations in blood glucose an hour after eating, this is the body's normal absorption of the glucose before it is metabolized and distributed.

The normal blood glucose range is between 4 and 7 so a slightly raised random blood test should not be cause for concern. You did not mention your age or how long you have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries but as your weight is normal/stable I don't think you can automatically assume Diabetes is an issue. However due to your family history and borderline blood glucose test I would suggest you visit your G.P. to have a full blood count taken which will include a HbA1C test which will give you an average reading of your blood glucose over the last 3 months.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

It is only slightly elevated- anything over 126mg is "high". A question would be, how long before the test had you eaten? Blood glucose levels peak approx 1.5 hrs after a meal is finished, so your level could have been substantially higher at some point in time.

Yes that's fine but keep a eye on what you eat, try to eat healthy and try to do something about it now before it's too late. I wasn't fortunate enough and am a type 2 diabetic now i assure you it's not much fun!!!
