I'm diabetic and I don't go near orange juice. Probably because I've never had a hypoglycemic episode (fortunately).
If you're suffering from regular episodes of low blood sugar, you'd better find out why. It may not be too late to prevent diabetes later on.

you could have hypoglycemia which is low blood sugar and the sugar in the juice helps raise blood sugar levels - it doesn't help with diabetes - I was born hypoglycemic and became diabetic this year - age 47/48 - so watch the blood sugar - no one ever told me hypoglycemia could lead to diabetes. complex carbs help stabilize blood sugar. eating sweets will raise the blood sugar rapidly, but them your body overcompensates and makes too much insulin and drives your blood sugar down - that might be what you are experiencing - google hypogylcemia and check out the symptoms list and see how many apply to you - if more than 3-4, talk to a doctor - it pretty much only controlled by diet - there are no meds for it

Orange is brillant for people with diabetics/people with low blood sugar levels as its very sweet and has natural sugar, and is used by the medical people to bring the levels back up again. However you should never buy orange juice if the label says extra sugar has been added as this too can cause problems.
It is also very good as it is packed with Flavonoids, which suppress destructive oxygen free radicals — also known as reactive oxygen species, or ROS. An overabundance of free radicals can damage all components of the cell, including proteins, fats and DNA, contributing to the development of many chronic diseases, including heart disease and stroke as well as diabetes

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/VSmAq
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

Other than vitamin C and anti-oxidents and general nutrients, it's not good for diabetics. It is good for hypoglycemics. It is one of many rescue methods because it is SO sugary that the sugar is first absorbed in your mouth before it even gets to your stomach. It is as healthy as a shot of burbon swished around in the mouth to correct low blood sugar. The lining of your mouth is the fastest delivery method of sugar to your system. Check your insulin dosage and your diet and do NOT let the two compete or you will die. Lots of dead diabetics compensated overeating with self-medicating insulin in unprescibed doses. And compensated too much insulin with a sugar rush. It SUCKS, but the diabetic has to be diligent. Good luck.
