We first thought it was from his clothes--but that was ruled out. Could it be related to his diabetes? Help! And if so, what can we do?

my brother was placed in the hospital and he is insulin dependent he had surgery on his foot which I posted a question earlier about treating open wounds on diabetics and his foot continued to get worse.. needless to say they cut off the pinky toe all the way back and they are giving him ensure. I dont think that diabetics should be on ensure.. he has a blood sugar problem it was over 300 this afternoon and I believe that its from the ensure.. why would they be giving him this.. he is blaming the levels on eating meats.. he says if he eats mainly vegetables that the levels will stay low.. so can someone answer this is it the ensure or is it the meats....?????.......

My father is diabetic. I've always been careful about my diet because of this, but lately I've discovered I've been more hypochondriac and crazy than actually reasonable about my health. I realize that my chance of having diabetes right now is almost nonexistent (my last blood test a couple months ago revealed perfectly normal BS levels, I have none of the telltale symptoms, am average weight (or at least FAR from being obese) and watch my diet), but I can't help but shake off the feeling that I might have it, even when that's complete bullsh*t (for example, when I had one of my RARE bladder infections a couple weeks ago, or when I'm thirsty after not having anything to drink all day). My father keeps reassuring me that nothing is wrong, but I'm still paranoid.

I know something is wrong with the way I'm processing my thoughts here, but how can I get myself to stop?

I have recently started having very bad sweating attacks at night. The pillow and duvet can be wrung out afterwards. I am 43 years old and taking Simvastatin and asprin. I also have a slightly raised blood sugar level (7.9 on last test). What is causing these? I am not over weight and do not smoke, and I do not drink excessively.

glucose levels are normal. I just want to eat all the time? Isn't this goofy? I thought that you lost weight on diabetes... I was on glipzide and metforman for a while... small doses.. but I just blew up in weight. It seems like if I don't eat at all.. or very little, I feel really good mentally... not sluggish, so that said, what is up with my ravenous appetite... which is still here but was even worse on the the pills...

ps. my blood sugar was ranging in the 140's to 200 range before I stopped the pills. So any advice on the munchy thing would be well accepted.

I've been really moody and easily annoyed with things that didn't use to bug me so much. I've also been REALLY thirsty, and REALLY NOT hungry. I've lost a couple pounds (which is acctually ok with me), but it's wierd because I could never even loose a pound before when I was trying to. I've had a lot of headaches and stomach aches too. I thought it was because I am getting over the flu (or something like that) and it was just normal. But I was on this site where you write your symptoms and it tells you what could be happening, and it mentioned diabetes 1 or 2. it said that some people get the symptoms after being sick with flu symptoms and they think its only that. My grandpa has type 1 and my dad had type 2, so i could get either one. My dad has a blood suger tester and i tested myself and my blood suger is 101. Is that ok? i don't know what the normal level is. And what do you think about the rest of it?
