Hi there. The worst part of the examination is when they put in the eye drops. They sting like mad and they make me feel sick (hopefully you wont have that problem). This opens the aperture in your eye so that they can see behind it. There is no pain or problem with the actual exam. Please DON'T drive there. Your vision will be affected for a few hours afterwards, and this may sound daft, but using a pair of sunglasses afterwards helps because your eyes are sensitive to the light. Good luck, you will be fine. Let me know how you get on pls.

I've had a fundoscopic exam done on many occasions but only had photographs taken on three occasions.

As others have already mentioned you may feel some tingling when the eye drops are inserted. This will normally pass within a few minutes. These are inserted to purposely dilate your pupils (the black central portion of your eye) in order for the ophthalmologist to get a good view. It's important for diabetics to have this procedure carried out periodically ... at least every 12 months or so. I had noticed no difference in my vision when it was discovered that I had retinopathy. (I won't go into detail, but there are varying degrees of retinopathy). I have since had dozens and dozens of laser surgeries and can say that I'm glad that I have. If I were to lose my sight because of my own failings I don't know what I'd do.

As has already been stated, you may find that the wearing of sunglasses will give you some relief ... after the examination, of course. Your pupils will remain dilated for several hours after the examination, meaning that you will be more sensitive to light. You must ensure that you don't drive to the place of your examination as it wouldn't be safe for you to drive afterwards.

The examination itself does not hurt.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Yes, the drops can sting, but the discomfort doesn't last very long, and the medical staff are solicitous when doing it. The bit I hate most is when they do that puffer machine thing into your eyes, although I think not all clinics do it now.

No, doesn't hurt at all. If you have diabetes, you make sure that you do everything that your GP/ Practice Nurse asks of you.
