No. It is partial,or established, NERVE DAMAGE caused by the effects of diabetes. Tight management, that is, very good control of blood sugars, is mandatory to limit nerve damage. If you are not adhering to tight control of blood sugars, then you will speed up this process--get worsening nerve damage.
