color is fine.

size and shape i dont really like. i went from a one touch ultra to an accu-chek compact. its too long and to thick because it uses drums. i also dont think its as accurate as the one touch. i sometimes feel symptoms of a low when i test in the 70's with the accu-chek and if i test at the same time on a one touch i'll test in the 60's...i believe the one touch more cause i usually never feel symptoms when im in the 70's unless i havent eaten in awhile

hehe...Mike J: my goal in life is to create a glucometer/ipod/cell phone/maybe a computer all in one!

I have the Accu-Chek Active. It's nice in that it's small and easy to stash in a pocket or glove box, since I spend a lot of time in my car. Shape is good, because it's long and a little wider than one of those fat doctor pens. And I love that it only takes five seconds, that's really nice. I like that the back of the test strip has a color changing circle that if your batteries die, you can see basically where you're at.

My only thing is that I hate handling test strips, particularly in the winter when my fingers are freezing and I drop it all the time, and in the summer when my hands are sweaty and it'll tend to stick.

Beyond that, I recommend it.

I keep a seperate log of my readings and shots so I can check previous readings and adjust my insulin. While I am waiting for my meter to tell me the reading(all of 15 seconds) I want the date and time to show. I don't really care about color, size (as long as its not the first big ones) and shape.

Like it fine.
Would be cool if my Ipod could do it, too.
