my boyfriend has type 1 diabetes and i try to explain to him that since his body works different from all of his friends, it's not good for him to be smoking weed all the time. i know it's not good period, but is there any medical evidence anyone knows about that proves it? or maybe your own theories?

Anyone who is a diabetic should understand where i'm comeing from because being a diabetic is very expensive. I'm type 1 and been a diabetic since I was 3yrs old and it's a struggle everyday. Medications are to high. Diabetes is a very serious condition why don't they help diabetics out and you shouldn't have to be 65 and over to get any medicare or medicade or have very low income or a child, they should include people who have diseases at these department of health care services. It shouldn't have to be to a point to where your so ill that you cant do anything for your self to get SSI or any kind of medical help. Also, if they had a insurance plans "just" for diabetics it should cover any and everything.

Often times, little things will send me into a complete panic where I'm crying and shaking. Then I tend to just clam up and worry myself until I make myself physically ill.

My father has type 2 diabetes. He's appointed to have all his remaining upper teeth removed to be replaces by a denture and also a few mandibular extractions which will only leave him with his canines to hold a partial. These appliances are in process. In the meantime my father had a 2nd opinion and was told that it was too aggresive of a treatment, to not have th extracted because of the risk factors. We know my father has periodontal disease with major bone loss, and that eventually he'll loose these teeth. My question is, what are the risk factors in oral surgery and prosthetic appliances in a type 2 diabetic as opposed to waiting for each tooth to hurt and get infected?

My boyfriend has been diagnosed with diabetes, and he is feeling VERY down. He used to enjoy eating A LOT and drinking A LOT (mainly beer). Now, being on a diet (he has to have only 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, and to him these portions are too small), he thinks that life is not worth living, and I am running out of arguments. I have been on the British Diabetes Association, talked to nurses... Has anybody here been through this and would be willing to help?

My doctor told me that medicade will only let me use the pump if I do blood testing (Prick my fingers to death) 8 times a day to get approved for it.

Did you had to do that? and is the pump all a bunch of lies saying how it will make things better?
