My mom has mild diabetes so she needs to limit her sugar intake, but she LOVES fruit. What she needs to know is this: does fruit sugar affect diabetics in the same way sugar in other stuff does? Is it healthier or just as bad?

My levels are way too high. I can't do the "diabetes" diet. I get sweaty, shaky and weak, moody and tearfull. I am under a lot of stress....I have two elderly people to look after and I have to do all of the work...(housework, yardwork, bill paying, cooking, dishes, driving, babysitting grandkids, and on and on. I am at my wits end...I feel like its going to kill me and I can't get help from anyone. I don't know what to do.

Can anyone help?! I have type one diabetes and use the Humapen Ergo, (think thats how you spell it) But are there any other SMALLER devices out there? Something thats easily carried in a pocket without it sticking into my leg or hip everytime I sit down!... I've looked on the internet but I always get redirected to a site that has nothing to do with what I'm looking for! Any help would be great, thanks. David.

As we all know there are many types of insulin pumps. I have a Medtronic Minimed. There are other kinds. (Animas, Cozmo...) If there is anyone with an insulin pump out here what kind do you have and what are your pros/cons with it? I mean there are always problems with stuff. I can think of a bunch of things I don't like about the Paradigm 715 I have right now. But there are also things I like about it. What are your reviews about insulin pumps?

isnt it strange that the rise in diabeties coincides with the birth and expansion of birthcontrol? could it not have affects? changing the bodies chemistry is a relatively new field as well as being highly dangerous. and try to keep the abundance of sugars in our foods now days out of it. if you bring that up, might as well, bring all the dyes and preservatives up too

My brother, who just turned 9 on Saturday, was just diagnosed with Juvenille Diabetes a few days ago. He seems to be doing okay, but I am completely overwhelmed with everything. I am hoping maybe someone could justify my emotions or help me cope with this and give suggestions about how we can get through this with the least difficulty.

I tested my blood sugar (With my husband's meter who is diabetic) and my blood sugar reading was like 120. It had been about 30 mins or so after eating something and I think I had some high sugar things. Does that mean I could be pre-diabetic? Thanks for any input! I think I am going to cool it with the sweets for awhile.
