when you wake up in the hospital after lapsing into a diabetic coma, that might be an indication of the effects....
or when you lose your vision, or lose mental function, develop gangrene, have a stroke, or a heart attack, or when you are hovering above your own body in an emergency room as they pronounce you dead
hey friend, alcoholism is a disease, too, you either die WITH it (sober) or FROM it (drinking)
diabetes is a whole nother thing to die WITH or FROM, depending on how you choose to deal with it
I hope you choose life, we all have people who want us around as long as possible

Alcohol will increase your blood sugar levels to dangerous highs. Are you taking any medications to lower your blood sugar? If yes, it is not wise for you to be taking medications (any medications) while consuming alcohol. Alcohol will perpetuate your diabetes and the diabetes will perpetuate you to drink alcohol. My best advice is to admit you have a drinking problem and seek help. Alcohol will only make matters worse instead of better. I know this quite well.

Diabetes and alcoholism are both diseases. Alcohol and diabetes are not a good combination. They both cause major mood swings and major medical problems. Being diabetic you must really watch what you eat and drink and you must take care of your body, it's the only one you've got. Please get help in stopping the drinking, you'd be surprised at how much better you will feel in just doing that and it will help you to better control your diabetes.

alcohol is loaded with carbs - alcohol is really just made of sugar. so itll make your blood sugar go up, up, up. not the best of ideas for a diabetic to be drinking alot, especially since alot of cocktails are also mixed with fruit juice or other high sugar mixers.

You are looking for trouble. I should bring you to see some of the patients I have looked after who have had below and above knee amputations because of being non-compliant with their diabetes causing severe peripheral vascular disease..also think of what the alcohol does to your liver, your only other organ that cleans your blood. I really think you should reconsider your lifestyle...get some help.

your blod sugar levels will shot up as alcahaol acts like pure sugar in the body.even though it is a carbohydrate.the digestive turns it into sugar to pass through the walls of the digestive track and is either turned into a form of alcahol to pass into cells for imedite use or stored as fat.
