Can elevated blood sugar cause a person to have dull taste when they eat and drink and even breathing in tastes weird?? I am very tired and it's a different kind of tired, weakness. My sugar came back 126 after a 12 hour fast and it was done first thing in the morning. My doctor lost my urine test and I am not so sure she is hearing me and how I feel.

Recently I have just gotten over anorexia and I am eating normally again and very healthy I might add. But what is strange is I eat and 1-2 hours later I am hungry again. I am always thirsty and have to pee every 20-30 mins. I crav salt when I used to HATE it. I eat lots and lots of fiber from bran, fruits, and lots of veggies. I might add that I am vegetarian too but still eat fish. I was just concerned because I am eating so much, twice as many calories as before but haven't gained any weight (hehe, which is a good thing). I have practally all the sympthoms of type 1 diabetes but am still unsure if that is the cause of my constant hunger, thirst, and salt cravings. What do you think?

A recent study has found that 75% of diabetics cheat on their diabetic medication. Why would they do that? Isn't it dangerous?

My mate has diabetes but her low symptoms ae vertually the same as her high symptoms (i know what the propper term is but i just cant spell them sorry). How do you know if shes haveing one or the other and how to help her, should i give her a little sugar and if she gets worse or if nothing happens then ill know shes on a high, but the only prob is i dont want to kill her as am not allowed to give her insullin (there are different amounts to give her), in my first aid at work course it doesnt tell you about this problem.

First, at what point should a diabetic seek emergency help for high suger levels? Over 200, 300, 400? My sugar is at 366 after taking my normal dose of insulin and then another dose an hour later.

Second, what are some tips to help bring down my sugar levels when they get that high?

Third, Why do you think it is running so high? I have not eaten anything I should not have. I had a grilled chicken breast, green beans, and a salad with very little Italian dressing. This is very similar to how I always eat. I had unsweet tea with dinner. No desert, no fruit, nothing like that.

I've been having a lot of trouble controling my sugar levels lately and I don't know why. I'm really getting concerned about it. I went to the doctor and they did a CT scan on Wed but everything looked normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was diagnosed with very low blood sugars, here is some background on my diabetic history, I was diabetic 11 years ago when I was pregnant with my child, and I was insolin dependant. My doctor told me that this means that this is a precursor to diabeties, What do you think? I hope ot get some clairfication on this.

Is a light cola better than a dark cola? Is eating a pot pie ok? What would happen if your glucose reading is between 150 -281 everyday in the last four months. How long can you have this reading before something happens? What will happen when something does happen? Is there a way to buy insulin over the counter? Is there such a thing as Pre-diabetes? Is it the same as diabetes? Can someone with Pre-diabetes become normal? How long should one wait to check their glucose reading after they eat?

Is anyone on here taking the insulin Humalog Mix 75/25? If so, how many units do you take and is it working for you? I've been on it for about 6 months and my blood sugars are still to high. My HA1C was 8.5 yesterday. I am just wondering if anyone here has had success with this insulin.
