Diabetes is not contraindicated to any kind of surgery.But blood sugar level control is very much required before and after surgery. You have not mentioned what is the nature of your diabetes but I could safely say yes you can have gastric bypass as long as your condition is fit enough to undergo an operation.

Yes!! and depending on the severity of your Diabetes, it may actually help a lot!!!
My partner's Dad had it and he's no longer in Heart Failure or Kidney failure!!!
He's been able to lower his need for insulin. But he's had to be really careful too.
Most doctors won't recommend it for you unless you've at least tried other means of loosing weight with no sucess.
My partner has type two diabetes and is having a heck of a time getting recommended for the procedure.
She has been trying to loose weight for many years with no sucess...
I love her and hope she can get the help she needs. I try to make sure she eats healthy, but I can't watch her 24/7. I'm not her mother and she still drinks Gatoraid...ugh...that stuff should be sold behind the counter so diabetics can't get a hold of it!!

It's Gastric Bypass, and if you have diabetes because you are overweight the surgery would relieve both of those problems.

You should probably ask your doctor about that. I know a diabetic who did, but it's probably different for each person.

gastirc bypass, yes its possible if your doctor agrees you are in good enough health to do it.

well all i can really say is that the diet is pretty much the same LOW CARB (LOW FAT NO SUGAR!!!!!!)
