First, at what point should a diabetic seek emergency help for high suger levels? Over 200, 300, 400? My sugar is at 366 after taking my normal dose of insulin and then another dose an hour later.

Second, what are some tips to help bring down my sugar levels when they get that high?

Third, Why do you think it is running so high? I have not eaten anything I should not have. I had a grilled chicken breast, green beans, and a salad with very little Italian dressing. This is very similar to how I always eat. I had unsweet tea with dinner. No desert, no fruit, nothing like that.

I've been having a lot of trouble controling my sugar levels lately and I don't know why. I'm really getting concerned about it. I went to the doctor and they did a CT scan on Wed but everything looked normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You probably need some blood work to see if you have infection somewhere. Have you had your urine checked for a infection. Have you had a cold or cough? Have you been sick anywhere. The heat being so hot could make your blood glucose a little off. You could have some infection somewhere and that would make your sugars go off.
If your blood sugars consistently go over 300 like more than a couple days, call your doctor and tell him, so he can help you adjust your insulin. I am sure you know the optiumum blood glucose is between 70 and 130 or near there. Keep track of your accuchecks, the time and the amount of insulin you are taking, and take it to the doctor with you. He can help you easier by knowing what time of the day you have your highs and lows and how you are responding to your insulin.
I would be curious to know what kind of insulin you are taking and your size.
PS I am a nurse in a hospital on a medical floor.

You may need to ahve you insulin adjusted, talk to your doc about this. A b/g reading of 366 is by NO MEANS good but Ive had mine read higher & Im still okay. Dont panic when you get a high reading PANIC if you cant get it to come down & stay there. Also you may have some typ of infection, bacterial or viral. I know my sugars have alwasy been VERY ahrd to keep control of. If I get sick, when my period comes , if Im over stressed over anything, all these things tend to make my sugars jump up!! Its VERY frustrating but Ive learned to deal w these things. YOu just have to keep on top of it. I woudl for sure check w your doc & see about changing your dose or maybe even changinf you insulin type, your body can develope an imunity to your insulin. I started out (19 years ago) on humalin R & L, the I was on a 70/30 pen mix, then I was on a fasst acting regular & lantus, Im now on humalog in a Minimed pump & honestly Ive never been healthier. Talk w your doc & if you arent seeing an endocronologist(sp) Id advise you to find one, they specialize in this & may be able to offer you more options & ways to conquor this !!! BEST OF LUCK!!! Feel free to email me if you have any other questions, Ill at least try to help you. I know how frustrating dealing w high sugars can be!!

For type I and type II diabetics.

I've found a wonderful book that will help you control your diabetes and minimize or even eliminate the complications. I'm a type II,but it helps both types, especially us type IIs. It's by an author who has really done his homework. I have tried his suggestions and found them to be very helpful. I have no complications whatsoever and my blood sugar levels are quite stable. Yes, I still have to take Metformin (Glucophage) daily, but it's the minimum dosage (500mg) and I only have to take it twice a day. It explains what's going on in our system and what to do about it. It's really easy and inexpensive. It's basically supplements and exercise. For example, did you know that cinnamon helps blood sugar absorbtion? It also controls cholesterol and triglycerides, too. This is according to the USDA.

For men: Are you suffering from erectile dysfunction? I was. Yes, was. Now that everything's under control I'm able to have nearly
normal sex again.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

you need to go back to the doc and let him adjust your insulin levels. Sounds like it needs to be increased. Some people stay in the 300 range all the time when they are diabetic. It is dangerous on your kidneys to let your sugar stay that high, because it makes them "work" twice as hard. Go to the doc Monday....your heart and kidneys will thank you for it.

300's is pretty high, but is it a one time reading or do you get this reading alot?? Also, id check your sugar before you ate to see if the equipment in your accucheck is working properly, and if everything is working ok, you need to go to the doc. Also, watch out for the salad dressings, the sugar in those can run pretty high!

Get those sugars under control. Get to the doctor. Take this advice from one who ignored all problems and wound up in a coma for a week. I am lucky to be alive and have learned to be more vigilant with my self-management. Good luck!!

Doctor should do more tests. What are your symptoms when sugar is that high? If it gets too high and you aren't at hospital You could die. Go directly to hospital do not look back. Don't read more emails.

Don't mess around with this . You need to consult your doctor for all the answers not Yahoo.
