One of the side effects but it doesn't mean people sick of ulcers were on steroids. I was once sick with that sickness due to not eating properly but I never took any steroids. Stress is the main cause of ulcers more than steroids. Having a big head doesn't mean a person was taking steroids either. Have you seen a person sick with Hydrocephalus. they got extra large head because of the abnormal presence of water in the head. Steroids have a lot of side effects and the first one to go is the liver and kidney. Those were the filter of the body of a person and people who took steroids have a shorter life span. It is also in the same token that because a person have an erratic behavior , they were on drugs which is the present behavior of famous fighter. People who were Bi-polars or have an Anxiety problem behave the same way but they might not be on drugs. This fighter changes mood in a flick of a finger, the same way a drug addict changes personality to the point of hurting somebody. You can not predict them like what you said psychotic. Cataracts were common to people who were diabetic and hypertension is a very common sickness in the US. You might be a member of the statistics for all we know.

The combination of diabetes, hypertension and obesity is known as the metabolic syndrome (incl. pickwickian syndrome)... diabetes especially has been associated with depression and hypertension, if uncontrolled, may lead to anatomical changes associated with depression... also in many societies there is an association with depression from both diseases as a result of stigma attached

Well i know there is a link to hypertension and diabeties. You don;t necessarilay always have them together but I know you have a higher risk if you have one or the other. As far as depression thats a mental thing but if you have both condition I could see how it could lead to you being depressed feeling bad a lot and all.

Yes. Diabetes damages the kidneys and adrenal glands, which profoundly affects blood pressure. Depression is another question; the link between that and diabetes is a bit nebulous at present.

Yes - Not directly for all of them, but deffinetly. you see, depression is a condition that compromises your physical frame, and can deffinetly cause hypertension (otherwise known as high blood pressure). And and hypertension is a condition that if not treated, in a person who is predisposed to diabetes (your parents or aunts and uncles have it), can have an impact on the disease process.

Just think for a moment on how the chain of events can effect an individual and you can see for yourself. You are diagnosed as a diabetic, and perhaps knowing someone in your family has had diabetes and struggled through this, you become very distressed, which without getting some positive knowlege on the condition can quickly send you down a path of depression, and here you are suffering from high blood pressure from the stress of all the previous concerns.

Another thing to consider may be that medications taken for psychiatric disease, such as severe depression, may interact unfavorably with certain people, resulting in hypertension.

You see everything can play into your complete physical and psychological health.

My suggestion is educate yourself on all conditions and start living a healthly lifestyle to prevent exacerbations of all conditions. for depression, try a group therapy, for diabetes, there are several things you can do to iimprove your health, and also for hypertension.
