My question is, lets say someone has Diabetes, but doesnt know they have it unless they experience symptoms, but let's say they consume a sugary food ( such as chocolate or fruit juice)....would they experience any physical abnormalities after ingestion when the blood/ glucose level sky rockets...such as sickness, nausea, and/ or vomiting and fainting?

I had a diabetes coach suggest I ask my doctor about it to see if it will help me to lose weight. I only need to lose about 50 pounds (I had lost 40, then gained back 10 when I lost my job last April). Can anyone tell me what side effects there might be with this med? What does it do exactly? Does it work well for blood sugars as well as losing weight? Is there a website I can go to so I can read up on it? I see my doctor on Monday and I want to know more about this before I ask her about it.

I think information that is available for people ailing from any disease should be given this information. Although I do have insurance, I have not met my deductible and this class would cost me $500.00. Just makes me wonder, If I were financialy able, I would pay this amount and use it to manage my disease. If I were poor, then medicaid and/or other social services would pay the bill. But, since I do not fall into these catagories, I guess I'll deal with it on my own.

My Father, 46 years old was told by the doctor that he's a diabetic a few years ago. He wasn't experiencing much problem by then and continue living a normal life. Unfortunately, recent happenings have me wondering about his health. When he went for a body check and blood test last week, he was told by the doctor that his blood sugar level is rising very rapidly and might have to get injections to help stabilize it. I know it's quite critical now, so, if any of you out there have any ideas how to lower blood sugar normally without injections, please, tell me. I need your help, especially diabetics with good control over their blood sugar level. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thank you...

My hunger pains are terrible, especially at night... I've tried eating more during the day, but nothing seems to help very much... Sometimes my legs shake very badly during these hunger episodes...Then, I'll get really nauseated a few hours after I eat, but I still feel like I am weak from hunger... Are these symptoms of diabetes?
