My mum has type 2 diabetes and she has to be careful how much fruit she eats, so I guess that means that fruit sugars are as dangerous as any other sugars. But I agree with fluffer, you do need to double check with a doctor to be safe.

RE:
Can diabetics eat fruit (the ones who have high sugar levels) because there are natural sugars in them?

If you were on a diet could you eat high sugar fruit?

Yes, but in moderation and within a calorie limit.

It is the same for diabetics.

You need to balance the healthy aspect of eating fruit with the total amount of carbohydrates / sugar you eat in a day.

As the man said before, "All things in moderation." Just because someone has diabetes, it is not a death sentence for substances with sugar. It's simply a choice to have moderations in all things. I have had it for years. That does not stop my from a taste of anything - I just don't pig out. If I want a piece of apply pie, I will have a small piece - like a teaspoon, and not a slice. I still watch my sugar level, just the same. From practice, I know what to eat lots of and what not to eat or eat very little of. Enjoy life.

Put another way as someone else said:

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

YES. People with diabetes can eat any kind of fruit, regardless of the sugar content. Everyone is encouraged to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Spreading the fruit you eat through the day will avoid a sudden rise in blood glucose levels. Although some fruits have a lower glycaemic index, which shows how foods affect blood glucose levels, the important thing is to increase the amount of fruit you eat, including a wide variety of different fruits.

This is a good question. Yes diabetics can eat all types of fruit, however they must monitor their sugar levels by doing their blood test. All diabetes have a monitor they carry around they must prick their finger, arm with a small needle, get a little blood and place it on the "test strip" their tester then analysis the blood and they get the sugar level readings.

The most natural and healthy diet for humans is an omnivorous diet, and not a plant based diet, or a meat-based diet per se. The Paleo Diet can be very widely varied and omnivorous for the most part, but the most important thing is that it’s unprocessed, and avoids the worst foods that agriculture brought mankind… refined inflammatory vegetable oils, refined grains (some are worse than others), and sugar! As you can see, the benefits of adopting a Paleo way of eating can be incredible! I’ve been eating 95% Paleo for the last 5-6 years and I’ve never felt better. I have dozens of friends that have adopted a more Paleo way of eating too, and have seen all sorts of health problems disappear, including eliminating acne and other skin problems, digestion problems, improving brain clarity, and of course, losing a lot of body fat!
