I just got a tattoo on sunday the day i turned 18 and one of my friends has been arguing with me over this...He thinks diabetics can't get tattoos.I laughed when he said it because I have asked my doctor and the tattoo artists and they said it is ok to get one. I got mine a few days ago and my blood sugar has been no higher than 150 which is awesome because the doctors want me between 80 and 160. Are there any diabetics with tattoos on here?I would like to know how recently you got yours and how big and where you have it placed on you. I am not worried about mine at all i just want to know if any of you have them too so i can prove to my friend that we can get them too.thank you so much in advance!!

How long does one really have to fast before taking a Fasting Blood Sugar test to measure the blood/sugar level. I went for a physical today. All I had was a couple of toasts and water all day at around 8:30am in the morning. I had my physical at 3 pm and when my doctor asked if I had anything to eat, I told him..just a couple of toasts and water. He said, fine..I can go to the lab (located at his office's building) and get my sugar level tested. So, I go there, get ready for the test, but the person who does the blood draw says, I can't take it because I had something to eat before 8-12 hours. This is conflicting answers as the doctor said it was ok, but then I get turned away when trying to get the test done. So...what's the correct answer? thx.

People with diabetes who take insulin, is it bad for them? or is the
insulin just needed to manage blood sugar? And the blood sugar (if not managed well) is the real problem.

I have been diabetic (type 2) for 5 years, until recently w/ out insulin. Then last week I experienced the classic symptoms of high blood sugar I.E. Increased thirst, increased urination, ECT. I gave myself insulin and now feel better, but my sugar is still high. What could be going on?

My friends hands shake all the time, enough to rattle the ice cubes in her glass,. Also she says she gets a jittery or shaky feeling in her chest/heart. She is only in her 40's and I'm worried about her.

I have always had trouble swallowing pills. Just started on Metformin, and it is a big pill. You can't crush, split, or break it because it is time released. Any good advice how to make swallowing this pill easier.
