Sugar is an instant burst of energy, I believe it's called glucose. In children it has a tremendous affect on hyperactivity. In a non Diabetic child the Insulin delivered by the Pancreas, in a proper working state, produces the sugar into direct energy compounded by the Insulin.

some children are more sensitive to sugar/additives etc....and they can cause hyperactivity. Sugar will certainly give them more energy (good or bad) but will also play havoc with their teeth. Better to give them healthy foods as snacks.

The real Halloween starts when the kids come home from trick-or-treating and eat up all their candy.
That's when the boys and ghouls go crazy and haunt your house for several days.

"Yes, MAAM, It sure does!!" But not just kids get energized by it,so do Grown-Ups!!! Sugar is so bad thol!! Its a DRUG!!! It gets everyone nice and high, energized... and then comes the DROP!!! See for oh a good couple of hours, everyone will be so happy, (depending on how much sugar, they consume), and then in an hour or so, in creaps the drop!!! Sugar is a HIGH & LOW!! I used to notice when I allowed my kids to have it, they'd be bouncing off of the walls, so I'd make them go out & play to burn it off......... Then come dinner time, they'd be ready for bed, instead of eating there dinner's!!! That's when they were really little, and I finally cut sugar out of their lives for years, because they not only got tired, but grouchy, too!!! They were lucky to get graham crackers from me, in those days!!! But, they were so much more mellow!!! Now, their all much older and I'm not as strict on their eating habits as I used to be.... But, for myself, I only eat sweets at night to help me sleep!! Kid you not! A couple of peices of dark chocolate and 10 min., later I'm in LaLa land!!! But then I'm Hypoglycemic, and sweets aren't good for me, neither are carbs!!! So, I only eat very little!!! But, if I were you I would limit their sweet's intake, to weekends, or pick a convenient time for you , to be able to deal with them, when you give it to them!!! And monitor them, to see for yourself how they are, when their on sweets!!! Good-Luck, to you!! Smile!!!!
