if you can referring to diabetes it is a type of disease. the disease is consist of two types: Type 1 and Type 2 (both are dealing with absence of insulin, which regulates the usage of glucose in the body)

Type 1 Diabetes: this is genetic, so people mostly receive this as a child. this deals with body attacking its own insulin production.

Type 2 Diabetes: type 2 is mostly caused by obesity or fatness resulting in the malfunction of insulin production.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia (high glucose blood sugar), among other signs.

The World Health Organization recognizes three main forms of diabetes: type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes (or type 3, occurring during pregnancy), although these share signs and symptoms but have different causes and population distributions. They are not a single disease or condition.

Type 1 is generally due to autoimmune destruction of the insulin-producing cells — pancreatic beta cells — while type 2 is characterized by tissue wide insulin resistance and varies widely. Gestational diabetes is due to a poorly understood interaction between fetal needs and maternal metabolic controls.

Type 2 sometimes progresses to loss of beta cell function as well.

A comment I am not seeing in the responses is it is possible for you to still be producing insulin but not being able to utilize it. The medicines metformin or glucafage and actos help you utilize what you may be producing better.

it's not 'dibetis', it's diabetes.

it's where an organ in your body, the pancreas, stops producing a hormone, insulin, which controls the amount of sugar in your blood.

if you're older, your pancreas may just be producing less, but if you're younger, it will have stopped working.

i have it
